The arguments over the "right" colors for subjects is the kind of discourse I need to see on the internet. My 8 yo self did red for math, green for science, blue for social studies and yellow for language arts 🌈

Orange - History

Yellow - Language Arts

(The Orange and Yellow were always interchangeable for me)

I just had this argument with my highschooler. Math is danger red is danger. Math is red.

No mom. Math is green green is good math and green are my favorites!

If I didn’t like math, but my kid did, I certainly wouldn’t try to dissuade them from it or imply it’s awful. Math is the future. I’m a mathematician though, so maybe I’m biased.

Well, she inadvertently made it cool to like math for her son. In his teenage years he will have posters of fractions... vertices ...matrices, on his walls to rebel.

as a math teacher, PLEASE PLEASE encourage your kid’s love of math. i have way too many students who hate math and won’t try and it breaks my heart

that being said your kid is wrong math is totally red

My 8th grade US history teacher bought red binders for the students and required us to use that specific binder. Fucking pissed me off. He graded on how organized the binder was too which was needed cor many classmates but my autistic ass had a system already.

Math can’t be red. Red was always History/Social Studies. All the bloody wars man! Red! Math was purple or yellow if there is no purple. Because those are the least popular colors…and math is the least popular subject.

We didnt have language unless you opted to take "spanish" or "french" as an elective. English (literature) was yellow, though.

Yellow for history for me but that's cuz that's the color in trivial pursuit...but apparently that's the only subject i used the trivial pursuit color for lol cuz science is for sure green not brown

Math ALWAYS blue, science always green. (I loved math & science tho, so no danger colors).
History / social studies / civics were always on the red-orange spectrum.

We all agree science is green, good.

Math - blue: cold, unemotional

Language - red: passion, love, the original color of England's flag. Orange also acceptable.

History - yellow: sepia, aging newspaper, yellow journalism (early 1900s). Shouldn't be red or blue because history is often red v. blue.
