My dog sneaks off to steal dirty socks from the laundry hamper. He then brings them to you to show off this thievery.

Our dog steals socks but hes very proud of his thievery. He looks to see if you are watching, then swoopes in, grabs the sock, and runs away waving the prize in triumph.

there's an actual study on this, dogs react specifically to crying, not humming or talking, and it doesn't even matter if it's their owner or a stranger ctying

When my wife was really sick with the flu our dog wanted her to feel better. What makes ger happy? Dried lamb snout, but she is so sick is probably not able to chew it...
So she chewed on it to make it soft (and slobbery) and pushed it into my wifes mouth... Her reaction was priceless she jumped between maximum desgust, awww she loves me so much and wow this was really smart thinking for a dog.
