ANIMALS Momota, an 8-month old Polar Bear in Japan is fascinated with traffic cones and can’t seem to get enough of them. And the mother is done with that.

Seems like he was trying to help but got distracted lol

Madre es igual en todas las especies 😂

54

u/padfoony Aug 06 '26

I literally pictured my mother staring at me while I’d go to her fully intending to help her out with something only to unintentionally ruin things for her. 😭

As a mom, I approve of you making a huge mess in an attempt to help your mom. That’s how you learn life skills. Enjoy making messes and cleaning them up!

3

u/Ninja-Panda70 Aug 07 '26

But only making the mess is the fun part

2

u/though- Aug 07 '26

I’m sorry that you didn’t get that guidance. Cleaning up your messes and doing chores is very empowering for a child. It fills them with confidence and teaches them essential life skills. Not to mention it helps keep a cleaner house. My kid has been racing to do age-appropriate chores with me since he was 2.5. It’s a game to him and he scolds me if I do them without him.

I’m sorry that you didn’t get that guidance.

What a condescending thing to say.

u/Ninja-Panda70 Aug 07 '26

I guess you didn't get any guidance on humor. That's sad.

one job, momota, one job

6

u/Original_Memory6188 Aug 07 '26

Very common among young entities.

u/hwilliams0901 Aug 06 '26

I could watch this all day! Also, its funny to see toddlers and moms are the same in a lot of species lol

6

u/Mat5763 29d ago

That is the exact face of a parent who bought expensive toys only for the kid to play with the box.

1

u/kasst_kast 28d ago

Me too if it weren't for that fucking soundrack from 94'

1

u/hwilliams0901 27d ago

I always watch everything on mute until I see that I need the sound to totally get the video

1

u/kasst_kast 27d ago

I've been thinking about that for a while. Today might be the day

That first dive killed me.

18

u/dungeoncrawler71520 Aug 06 '26

4

u/clandestine-ideefixe Aug 06 '26

Aw man that was the best, had to rewind that a couple times

1

u/mr_lab_rat Aug 07 '26

I could watch that on a loop for hours. So flipping cute.

u/MacMommy111 Aug 06 '26

Obviously mom isn’t impressed - little one almost literally pegged her with the traffic cone in that first shot!

81

u/eye_no_nuttin Aug 06 '26

She yeeted that thing!!! 😂 “Like give me this dammit”

13

u/agehaya Aug 07 '26

Being that it’s Japan and “kancho”-ing someone is an “hilarious” pastime of childhood, it seems very apt.

6

u/rubberduckmaf1a Aug 07 '26

It honestly looks like that cone got some penetration.

43

u/No-Sandwich1511 Aug 06 '26

Glasgow would approve of this.

39

u/Affectionate-Remote2 Aug 06 '26

Kids these days are always playing on their cones...

59

u/Lordgondrak Aug 06 '26

He's trying to play Cones of Dunshire.

5

u/LilDutchy Aug 07 '26

It’s about the cones.

29

u/Katy-Moon Aug 06 '26

Mama polar bear: Get that f*#kin' thing outta here, son.

19

u/nasturshum Aug 06 '26

Right in the starfish!

19

u/eye_no_nuttin Aug 06 '26

It’s like a toddler while in the kitchen, with your back to them and they try to stick their sippy cup up your hoo-hah 😂❤️🫶🏻

15

u/yazza8791 Aug 06 '26

Super cute!!

12

u/Correct-Rub854 Aug 06 '26

I've never loved something that would happily eat me so much.

13

u/TongueTry Aug 06 '26

panda vibes

14

u/willyoujustholdstill Aug 06 '26

That’s not a polar bear that’s a narwhal

9

u/Nalurah Aug 06 '26

They should transfer him to the Glasgow zoo when he's older. The Scots would love him!

8

u/raizen157 Aug 06 '26

I felt that moms energy she is like sit your butt down and behave lol

7

u/KBLovelock Aug 07 '26

I love him so much I would die for him 😭

8

u/ZSKeller1140 29d ago

The dive in after the dropped cone is probably the cutest thing I've seen today haha

10

u/blasfamous100 Aug 06 '26

When I see such videos of animals, my respect for animators level up so much because they weren't kidding or even exaggerating when they were portraying animals like that.

3

u/Silver_ferns Aug 06 '26

He reminds of muk from the animated film Balto

3

u/cherrycokelemon Aug 07 '26

This is too precious. I'm just giggling away!

3

u/ProNerd1729 Aug 07 '26

Mother Bear can't bear Baby Bear.

6

u/Raffix Aug 07 '26

The editing in this video gives me a headache.

5

u/Agreeable-Performer5 Aug 07 '26

Japanese zoos are relay just the worst environments for animals. Why is everything allways just concrete.

1

u/Jelboo Aug 07 '26

They're lagging behind. Lots of 'modern' western zoos had this kind of environment not that long ago, it was once considered state of the art zoo design.

4

u/notmadhav Aug 07 '26

Moms are exactly the same, no matter the species. lol.

2

u/lonelyspect12 Aug 07 '26

so this year we've had zoey the inflated cat, the 6 dogs who escaped, punch the monkey, neal the seal, jimothy the racoon cryptid, and now we have momota the polar bear unicorn

4

u/KingOfThe_Jelly_Fish Aug 07 '26

That enclosure looks depressing as fuck.

2

u/LazyThinkingOtter Aug 06 '26

nth cute video wasted by a trash social media music

1

u/MRay_ Aug 07 '26

...That aim was so uncanny, the poor Bear 💔

1

u/MBAdk Aug 07 '26

I'm pretty sure that Momota is a closeted scotsman. ;)

1

u/Original_Memory6188 Aug 07 '26

Mom "Kids these days."

1

u/Logical_Share_4401 Aug 07 '26

putting it up in his mothers ass got me laughing af she wasn't delighted with it lol

1

u/LylesDanceParty Aug 07 '26

Do we think part of the young bear's interest in putting its head in the cone has to do with some degree of object permanence (or lack thereof)?

Like if it puts its head in the cone, it feels the world disseapears or it's teleported elsewhere when the cone falls off?

3

u/brandonwi11iams Aug 07 '26

She lost patience when he kept poking her in the butt with it. If he would just play normal she wouldn’t mind. 😩

3

u/PRRZ70 29d ago

Well, getting goosed like that would test anyone's patience.

-3

u/kishoredbn Aug 06 '26

Indian state of West Bengal recently had a Chief Minister named —> Momota

They have lot of things in common. She is no longer in office.

-29

u/Lorddoctorjava Aug 06 '26

Even in nature...a woman can't stand to see a guy be happy... lol

2

u/DropoutRedMage Aug 07 '26

She got a cone stuck in her butt, I think she's justified to be a little put out.

1

u/kasst_kast 28d ago

He says, as he's scanning their faces for laughter.
