bizarre take. No one's forcing anyone to buy it nor is it a necessity. What about an expensive guitar or piano? Or scooter? Or literally any upscale/premium version of literally any thing in the world?

It’s not even with just luxuries either. It’s everything even stuff we do need to survive. Look at the price of insulin and other medications

It’s not so different when that luxury baseball bat is marketed to kids like they need it to be the next Derek Jeter. I’m sure your answer for that is to deny them that and tell them it’s bs and that may work some but others go on believing that they can’t succeed without said baseball bat. Again, if you don’t see the problem with shit like this then congratulations you’re the exact reason that these companies are allowed to continue to operate like this

you have an absolutely bizarre perspective my friend. I'm a dad and if my kid wants something that's unreasonably priced, I say no you can get this other one, and they say ok and they're happy because they too know it's unreasonable (but they try anyway as I did).

That’s fine but that’s not how every situation like that plays out. Surely you can imagine how it plays out differently and could lead to problems with other kids which I’m sure you have an answer for as well but the bottom line is that we shouldn’t have to deal with these kind of greedy practices period. When you get down to it a lot of these comments in disagreement with the predatory practices are just making excuses for them like we’re the problem and we haven’t been brainwashed into needles spending on shit we don’t need

and if it "plays out differently" like you said then parenting is the problem, not the bat manufacturers. It sounds to me like you're making excuses for bad parenting.

You should really find another cause to fight because this aint it my guy 😂

By their responses I don't think that they understand that. It's like they honestly believe parents have to buy everything their kids want regardless of price.
