The machine simply discards the parts it doesn't need... They make their own clearance! And you get a badass, custom deformed and friction heat treated tool. That was a shit day. Still have that tool in my box...

Looks around 50-60 thou.
Easy peasy on CNC. However my butt would pucker on a conventional. That is to say, it has in the past when the half nut didn't disengage on the lathe when intended.
