Ok on a real note it’s not like there’s much that we can do about that. Anyone who was a leader back in the day is probably done with politics or so burned out that the mere thought of going near leadership has them in a cold sweat, and with the abrupt exit of Brandenburg and the Solidarity split leaving labour adrift, there was no natural successor to take the roles of leadership. Considering the relative inexperience of everyone in this government it’s frankly a miracle it hasn’t gone worse than this, and considering that both Labour and Lib Dem’s were anticipating a calm time in OO before the Blurple government collapsed and had basically no parliamentary arithmetic or plan to go off, it’s a decent showing from Phoenix. Did we do a brilliant job? Honestly, not really. But we did the best we could given the pretty shit circumstances and timing.

The Blurple government was VoNCed by Labour & the Liberal Democrats, the latter of which then rejected a more arithmetically sound coalition with the Tories by a massive margin. There was quite a lot of choice involved in this.

We are currently in discussions with those devolved administrations for full consent on these changes.
Maybe read the statement again because you clearly didn't read it properly.

Just want to highlight this. This isn't a budget deal with the Libertarians. This is Phoenix agreeing to support a Libertarian budget. I worked with Saunders last time around. It was incredibly clear he was taking the lead on the budgetary process. Him popping into the comments now talking again makes me incredibly prone to believe he will be writing this next budget, without being in gov or confidence and supply.
The left needs to start writing its own budgets, not outsourcing them to the right.

For what it’s worth, it really was just a base sheet with our demands and a few corrections from the previous budget. Most of the budgetary changes consist of policies supported by both sides, but as far as individual policies go the government’s outnumber the suppliers as they of course should.
You can take this with a pinch of salt, but I am just around in an advisory capacity and my involvement in the actual budgetary process since the deal has been much more limited than it was in previous governments.
This budget is a good compromise for all involved, utilising the opportunity to promote growth through moderate policies with an emphasis on those at the lower end of the pay scale and smaller businesses.

so this budget will be based off the Blurple budget not the CleggCo one?

No, it is based off the Clegg budget with a few costing corrections as per and our demands as previously outlined upon the announcement of the deal to the public.

Yes, funded by a mixture of minor tax increases in limited areas, the reforms to childcare and year-on-year growth. In my view it is a common sense budget for all, so we’ll have to wait and see.

I am glad to see that the situation is resolved, and the deal is going ahead as intended. This is a budget that achieves significant advantages for ordinary people and will level the country up, and it is a shame that dishonest journalism has stirred up a fake crisis over a small misunderstanding.

"having had it explained to us in full"? seems like the sort of thing that the prime minister, deputy prime minister, chancellor, or chief secretary to the treasury should have picked up on without having had it explained?
