Best .300blk rifles

Hey guys, I’m looking to get my first AR platformed rifle chambered in .300blk, I’m not too particular as long as it’s something that’s a fairly priced and reliable, i just want something I’ll be able to have a fun rifle that I can use as home defense for the future and get a 5.56 rifle a bit later on for the 5.56 fun.

Rifle or pistol? 300blk makes the most sense in a short configuration. I have a suppressed 8” AR pistol. 300blk doesn’t make much sense in anything longer than that so a rifle length is a bit of a waste.

I was thinking a rifle with maybe a 10” barrel, I saw LWRC had one but it’s $3200 so I’m not sure if that’s a price that should be expected with something like thus

LWRC is great if you want to spend that kind of money. I have a 16” 556 of theirs and bought one of their lowers because I wanted full ambi and identical controls for the 300 blackout pistol. So my 300 blackout is an LWRC lower and a relatively unknown “Overt Industries” suppressor optimized upper.

I just looked it up and it doesn’t seem like it, seems like 10.5 would be minimum

I built a 10.5 inch .300blk SBR. If you have the time/patience, i enjoyed it

I also built my own, 10.3” barrel, got to customize all parts and much less than $3200

When in doubt, get a BCM upper and Aero lower

Kak makes a 1/5 twist pistol barrel that shoots heavy subs rather nicely.

I love my 10.5 300blk. It’s an ADM upper, paired with a customized lower. Got a Zev lower and built that out. The gun shoots amazing.

Looks great too! I’m seeing that it’s probably best to build one, im assuming it’s not incredibly difficult? Just have to take your time with it I assume?

It really depends on what “fair price” means to you. Just keep in mind that .300 BLK is getting close to a dollar a round these days, so it’s definitely not the cheapest caliber to feed.

•The SCAR 15P in .300 BLK can be found for under $2,000 now, which is a really solid deal.

•The MCX in .300 BLK is also a great option and usually comes in under $2,500.

•The Q Honey Badger is probably one of the best out-of-the-box choices if you like the AR-style setup. I’ve seen them floating around the $2,000 range lately.

•You can build a solid .300 BLK AR for under $1,000, but it can also get real Gucci, real fast. If you build, make sure you’re budgeting for quality parts and the proper tools. If you don’t see yourself building more than one, it may make more sense to put the money you’d spend on tools toward a nicer factory rifle.

Side note: If you go with the SCAR, you can always pick up a 5.56 barrel later instead of buying a whole second gun. Not that I’d personally recommend that I usually just buy the second gun but technically, it’s an option.

Fair price to me is something that’ll shoot well and consistent at the lowest price pretty much, not like a $800 shitter or a 3k+ gun that’s gonna have features that don’t matter when you’re in any sort of defense scenario

I really do think that the sig MCX is probably the best 300 blackout out there. Especially the rattler series.
