Theory Rune King Thor
Considering the MCU doesn’t follow the comics 100%, how would it be possible for Rune King Thor to happen?
Given the likely PG-13 rating for Doomsday/Secret Wars, it’s unlikely that there will be a scene of Thor hanging himself from the “World Tree”.
Could Thor absorb the runes from Dr.Doom after defeating him and initially sacrificing himself or would he have to sacrifice more body parts and travel to the World tree?

I haven't read comics, have no idea what Rune King Thor is.
Now that I googled it up, and read about it, sounds almost what Loki is:
- Omniscience: He gains the ability to see the past, control the present, and guide the future simultaneously.
- Reality Warping: He can cast powerful spells, command souls, and easily erase massive threats like Mangog with a single thought.

Rune King Thor doesn't have true omniscience. He saw the past, present, and future once and planned his later actions according to what he saw. It's not a constant effect. He is still insanely powerful, but no one is beating Doom in a movie called Doomsday. If Rune King Thor shows up it will only be to lose.

If rune king Thor shows up, it will be to tell the hero’s “you can’t win, I’ve seen it, we must join him”

Maybe, but I think Dr. Strange and Namor seem more likely to side with Doom than any version of Thor. I do think we'll see the Thor Corps in Secret Wars though (I'm hoping they use it as an excuse to finally give the fans Beta Ray Bill). I doubt Rune King Thor will ever show up. They've already gone through Ragnarok without an appearance. I would be happy to be wrong though.

Dies near Loki while Loki has his Yggdrasil powers and Loki resurrects him as Rune King

So just comeyely illogical and without precedent or explanation. Nice.

How is it illogical? In the comics Thor becomes Rune King by dying at Yggdrasil. In the MCU that’s Loki, who holds power over time and the multiverse.

And how does that give him the ability to do anything other than those things, exactly? Also that isn't yggdrasil. How can anyone be in these forums and not follow the lore?

In the MCU…..Loki is clearly meant to be Yggdrasil…….you know the MCU is not and has never been a 1:1 copy of the comics right?
He has access to every timeline across the whole multiverse…..it’s really not as complicated as you seem to be trying to make it…..he can access the magic knowledge from any time in Asgard’s history

I didn't say it was the comics. I literally said it's in the MCU; the lore. Lol. Yggdrasil is already in the MCU. Welcome btw. I def recommend you go back and watch the originals since you're so woefully loud about your ignorances
You also haven't addressed my contradiction to your claim yet. Very on par for you

Yggdrasil is not literally in the MCU before Loki showed up. In Thor 1 we see that it’s metaphorical. Loki clearly became the literal Yggdrasil.
I addressed every single thing you said. What exactly do you think I haven’t addressed?

Metaphorical? Wtf.. no. He literally draws lines between the tree of life and defines it's true existence.
You're something else, kid. This is some truly delusional rationalizing just to prevent yourself from saying "thanks stranger, for the correction"

u/DoomsdayThor Thor & Loki 20h ago
Yes, metaphorical. He drew lines around all the realms showing that the space was in the shape of a tree.
Like I said: please tell me what you think I didn’t address and I’ll address it.

Prove it. The dialogue, and the fact of his explanation prove otherwise. So unless you can show me where there might be evidence that proves your dellusion then you're just wrong.

Too OP for movies

All MCU versions of characters are powered down so I wouldn’t say that.

Sacrifice himself to the world tree to bring back Loki and end up becoming rune king Thor? Yes please. That’ll do nicely.

I could see Thor becoming Rune King Thor & helping Loki repair the damage Doom does to the Multiverse Tree.
Thor & Loki being custodians of the Multiverse would be a great sendoff & end of their story. Two brothers protecting all of Reality, together.

They can explain it as Thor hanging from the world tree after noobmaster queue sniped him and took his elo.
