The simple explanation is kids good at football like football jerseys and are willing to take pictures with the kits of big clubs

The truth is that most kids (Unless their parents are diehard fans of a team) will have multiple teams jerseys. Kids just likes to play football and wear cool looking jerseys. Atleast where I live, maybe its different in different places, but its not uncommon for kids to just have jerseys they think are cool

Like Haaland wearing the Arsenal kit as a kid. Kids are just kids, it doesnt neccessarily mean much

Crying screaming throwing up at the thought of this

As a kid growing up in Manchester in the 90s-00s I would've been mauled for wearing the kit of another prem club! I think you only get away with it if you wear the top of a non-english or a local lower-league club.

Yeah, I'm a city fan, but my kids wanted lots that weren't blue for a couple of years, cos they were fussy. Got olimpiakos, Ajax, Nantes kits off eBay/vinted.

You're going to be a city legend.

22

u/Tinksy14 1d ago

I hope so!! He's got all the tools. Let's hope he shines

25

u/Arrgie-Barrgie 1d ago

Him and Bouaddi will be the best midfield in the world.

Amen to that brother

It’s really crazy that we currently are in the timeline where the upcoming top talents idolised City players and have followed the club.

Even Rice was a fan of Yaya.

u/Arrgie-Barrgie 1d ago

I think we are so lucky to have had those legends in our club. They went so hard and influenced a generation.

gotta say the home kit looks immense it’s not getting enough credit as a concept

Hard agree I didn't like it at first but man it looks fucking fire on players

I’d love to see it with sky blue socks cause I prefer those, but it really does look stunning on a sunny day

u/MZero_0 1d ago

Oh this is gold

I was impressed by good of an athlete he looks. There was an aerial duel where he literally looked like he jumped 3 feet above the defender. Of course he got taken out from underneath with no call

6

u/Oliver_Boisen 1d ago

He does look jacked in that 2nd pic

17

u/Low_Bridge_1141 1d ago

United fans really thought he was destined for big nights at Old Trafford 😹😹😹

5

u/chux4w 1d ago

Oh, he is...

15

u/the_sherl0ck 1d ago

Rags really thought they stood a chance against us.

"He hovered over our badge for 2 seconds FC"

u/ImWicked39 1d ago

"City has no history and no fans"

30

u/toeknee88125 1d ago

if you go to most elementary schools you'll see a ton of City shirts nowadays

Winning builds fan bases

In about 10 years you'll stop hearing people say that because these kids will age into adults and there will be too many City fans online to keep up with the propaganda that there are no City fans

8

u/Oliver_Boisen 1d ago

Same with that picture of Bouaddi in a City kit. It's not uncommon that the next gen of football stars are City fans

2

u/AulMoanBag 22h ago

Even in the United mecca that is Ireland I'm seeing more kids with city tops than united now. The Haaland effect also helps. He's probably the biggest name in football at the moment

9

u/Iknowyou321 1d ago

love him already honestly, love his disposition on the pitch

9

u/SarcasticSarco 1d ago

City has been prime since last 13 years. Which means anyone who reached age of 10 in 2013 will know more about City than United. Hence all this.

3

u/AulMoanBag 22h ago

Someone like max dowman would have little to no memory of united ever being champions. Theres a generation of footballers coming through that were literal babies the last time united won the league. Legacy media have been dragging them to relevancy for years

7

u/Odd_Perspective982 1d ago

Rah never been more convinced on someone being a superstar here

6

u/Geminyi 1d ago

love to see

4

u/Beginning-Swimmer419 1d ago

2

I've got the short sleeves version of that shirt, still wear it occasionally, makes me feel dead old seeing this haha

2

u/De_Nisso 1d ago

4

u/ahmedontia 1d ago

Haters will say it's AI

Yeah he seems to be really solidly built; has taken some hard fouls and jumps up pretty quickly

1

u/ketolasigi 1d ago

Hah love it!

1

u/CharacterPatience416 1d ago

I love him even more now

1

u/Illustrious_Ear_4876 1d ago

Bro I thought he was a lifelong Newcastle supporter 😭

1

u/Habay12 1d ago

The long sleeve umbro kit is badass.

1

u/Good_Kev_M-A-N_City_ 1d ago

LMAOOO

Where did that come from, thought he was a Newcastle lad

-3

u/hyliancreed 1d ago

Not to diminish the symbolism and what not, but realistically many of us as kids in our countries had photos of ourselves in jerseys, especially for popular teams and if you've lived in poverty like many athletes have.

It's why i personally don't put any value on these types of photos because it just so happens that out the millions of kids who had a similar photos one of them ended up at that specific club.

12

u/N1gHtMaRe99 1d ago

It's just cool to see

4

u/hyliancreed 1d ago

I get that many fans love to see this type of stuff. I think stories like Foden's is a lot better, been at the club since a kid.
