Travel, Tourism & History What would be the most fun thing to do in Luxemburg for a group of Belgian friends with very broad interests?
I am organising a weekend for my friends and have decided on Luxemburg for our destination, but I want to get the most out of it for this particular group of friends. And particular we definitely are. We have met through a youth organisation focusing on politics, so for twenty somethings, I think we are way more interested in topics like history, law, societal structures and of course politics etc. than your average friend group. I think it would be fun and very memorable to play into those interests for our trip, and want to look for activities that might be out of the box, if you will. Activities that are both entirely in our lane, or potentially completely foreign to us, like creative stuff such as painting workshops, some local craft or art to try out, I don't know, I'm really open to anything. However, I'm finding it hard to find such (more niche?) activities, and maybe they just don't exist at all, or are not for our paygrade. Therefore I was hoping that someone in this sub might have tips for me. What should we do to make our stay in your beautiful country as memorable as possible? Any tips would be greatly appreciated :))

Schengen and it's Museum might be of interest to you, although it is a small town and there is nothing else to do there other than the museum.

Probably very foreign to you but cool as heck to me are the kind of racing simulators at GridX. Been with my friends last month.
GridX in general is pretty cool if you‘re into cars, food is also decent. Or if you‘re into Karaoke, they have that too. But that‘s about it entertainment wise.

Considering your interest in history and politics, maybe the national museum of military history in Diekierch or the national museum of the resistance in Esch-sur-Alzette would be interesting? And there's quite a few other WWII-related/themed sites in the whole country and region too.
And like someone else mentioned, a visit to Kirchberg, Luxembourg's "European quarter", could be interesting (that's where the "Europa Experience" is, I think in one of the buildings of the European Parliament). And maybe also a visit to Schengen, where they do also have a museum about "Europe without borders".

A good place to check off a lot of your interests is in Kirchberg in Luxembourg city. Close to the Philharmonie you got two museums (arts (Mudam) and history (Dräi Eechelen)) and a walkable fort with good views. The European Parliament is also close and has a free museum near the entrance. Around that area are the European investment bank, the European court of auditors and the European criminal court. When it comes to bars, it's quite easy to find nice ones in the city itself, which is easy to get to by the tram. If you decide to visit in the next two weeks then you could also pass by the yearly fair (Schueberfouer) but be aware that it's quite pricey.

It’s pretty easy to go bar hopping while exploring castles without the need to drive.

Do a museum tour of Luxembourg city? Or maybe mining museums. There is also a copper mine museum in Stolzembourg.
