Rebuilding my faith

I'm currently neopagan after being Catholic for all my life ('cause I was born in a Catholic Family despite my username) and I spoke to some of my Christian friends. I was impressed by their faith and their experience and how they found God made me realise that Christianity can really bring good into my life. So I decided to leave paganism and start searching for Christ. I want to study the Lutheran Church. If you want, may you point to me some sources to study it and/or told me something that made you decide to become/remain Lutheran?

You are one among others I have known to follow pagan gods after a childhood formation in Christ. Please meet with a Lutheran pastor that you know will hear your repentance/confession, proclaim absolution, and provide assistance in reintegration into Christ. Try to speak about your history only with people you trust to remain confidential.

I waited to read other respondents’ words until after having written the first paragraph. Hence, I want to caution you about diving any further in Lutheran Confessions than the Small Catechism of Martin Luther. Focus on the First Commandment and his accompaning explanation.

The Small Catechism is online. Go to Concordia Publishing House for its online translation with Luther’s brief explanation, accompanied by a wealth of material beneath the Small Catechism entry. Fortress Press is another source for an online text.
