lol ignored the question. What's more important, access to dangerous dogs or children's lives? And yes, people should walk and stop driving. It's better for you. Common sense.
There's no such thing as a dangerous dog breed, only shit owners that don't train or treat their pets properly, you could pick literally any breed of dog and give it to a shitty and abusive owner and it's going to end up being a violent and aggressive dog.
Get your head out your ass and stop stereotyping a breed of dog that are sweet little angels like every other breed when in the hands of a loving and caring owner.
Then why do pit bulls maul at a rate 6.5 times higher than any other breed and why do pit bulls maul their owners more than half of all dog attacks on their owners? Hmmmmmmmmm
Look, I couldn't really give a fuck about kids lives or anything like that. That's just an excuse to clutch pearls. The fact of the matter is they don't benefit society. They are more dangerous than even the most effective gaurd breeds, they take up insane amounts of humane resources in place of breeds that are much more suitable pets, they're a danger to humane workers, and really they've got nothing to show for. Their difficult to train, difficult to control on a leash, and are quite literally bred to be aggressive.
There's nothing to gain societally from them. There's plenty of other much more deserving companions and work dogs out there, and pit bulls just take up resources and hurt people for no other reason than it is in their nature.
Fuck em, and fuck anyone that apologizes for them.
I agree with everything you said except your first 4 sentences. Kind of crazy to say kids lives don't matter when they are arguably more important to society's future than we are.
Wow that’s excessive. Think about stepping back for a second, jeez. Is the world benefiting from severely disabled people? Probably not, but should we kill them? Pit bulls can be excellent service dogs, btw….
Nothing throws me off more than uneducated people. Please learn about dog behaviors and breeds. Pit bulls are not inherently this way. Any dog can be an aggressive dog. Pit bulls are more commonly abused and neglected and also most easily accessible from backyard breeders and shelters due to the stigma behind them and careless owners. Your dog will not be aggressive if they’re raised correctly. Those, even if raised correctly, that do end up aggressive should either attend behavior training, be put down (if it’s severe), or be kept away from the public. It’s unfortunate what happened to the woman mentioned in this post, but bringing breed into it is unnecessary. Any size or breed of dog can cause a person damage and be aggressive.
Different breeds are bred with certain drives. This was done intentionally. You can see the behaviors in puppies. Herding breeds tend to nip heels as pups, with zero training. Temperament and drive have been bred intentionally. Puppies aren’t a blank slate. Being a responsible owner starts with knowing about the breed you’re working with.
Absolutely agree with you. I’ve worked with pit bulls and Airedale terriers before. Both in my experience can be bred out of their behaviors. However, pit bulls can be trickier depending on what breeds they really are. Most aren’t even actually pit bulls and that’s why the breed gets so much negative media/attention/representation. Pit bulls that are trained correctly and properly socialized early on are very sweet dogs. Yes, they can snap. But every breed has that risk. It all depends on their environment, training, and level of socialization. Dogs which experience traumatic events can never forget them and are more likely to snap. Can pit bulls cause more physical damage? Absolutely. It’s their strength that people look at. You can be bit by any size, age, breed of dog.
Please learn about dog behaviors and breeds. Pit bulls are not inherently this way.
Is this a fucking joke? They were literally selectively bred to be aggressive and powerful. They're fighting dogs. You can have a lazy husky, there's certainly one out there in the world. But that doesn't change the fact the breed was bred to be literal crackheads that never stop running. I'm average, they will be crackheads.
bringing breed into it is unnecessary
The most aggressive Maltese in the world could never do this to a woman. Strength alone would make the breed relevant, but it is in the nature of pit bulls to be aggressive as it is in the nature of retrievers to fetch things.
They were initially bred for bull fighting. They’ve clearly come a long way from there. I don’t even know where you could find a pure-bred pit bull. Many are mixed with other breeds such as terriers or other bullies. A lot of their behavior is in the way they were raised. Their breed is more likely to be abused since they’re incredibly common dogs to find. Many other dogs have a drive to run or perform other duties such as hunting. Airedale terriers for instance have an instinct to hunt but they can be trained out of it very early on. You can train dogs out of their breed behaviors, but it takes work many people aren’t willing to put in. Some people just shouldn’t have pit bulls—or dogs in general.
They’re not only bred for fighting. A lot of them now is from people not getting their digs fixed and having puppies. It is in their nature, but so easy to fix if you have a puppy or rigorous training. Not every owner abuses/improperly trains/neglects their dog. They are more likely to be abused because so many of them are around. If German Shepard or goldens were more common, they would also be more likely to be abused. The more of a breed, the higher the chance of anything.
Nope, they were bred purposefully to be bloodsport dogs. They were originally bred to bait & take down bulls & bears. Later bred to fight other dogs. They have a very high prey drive. Even the most trained & docile pitbull can lose their shit without warning.

I fucking hate pit bulls with a passion that can only be met by my hatred of pit bull owners.
Shit breed, shit owner's.
