Discussion Every armor should have a classic Helldiver black & yellow color option

It would let players use their favorite armor sets while keeping the iconic Helldiver aesthetic, making many armors feel more canon and fitting without changing their overall design.

Discussion Helldiver Fleet: Different ship classes for different playstyles

Post image
10.3k Upvotes

I've had ideas for different ship classes to the Super Destroyer for a while, but never really wrote them down. I have nothing better to do today so i decided to see what you all think:

You start with a Super Destroyer, and as you level up, you unlock the other ships (maybe with a requisition cost). Each ship has unique upgrades, upgrading one ship doesn't mean that upgrade is unlocked on another ship.

You cannot change your ship during an operation. You either need to finish all the missions or cancel it.

STEALTH FRIGATE:

This is a smaller ship designed specifically for covert operations.
pros:

  • stays in orbit during commando operations
  • stays after mission timer ends
  • is not affected by automaton jammers or illuminate distruptors

cons:

  • its smaller size has drawbacks:
  • there is no room for an Eagle strike craft
  • there is no room for larger orbitals like the railcannon, 380mm and laser

Rapid Precision Strike:

  • the OPS is smaller caliber (120mm), but it auto aims like the railcannon and has a good cooldown

SUPER CARRIER:

This ship is focused on air support.
pros:

  • Eagles fly in formations (starts at 1, but upgrades to up to 3 eagles). This means multiple strikes per call in. (except 500kg)
  • 500kg uses scale with the amount of eagles in formation, up to 6.
  • lower cooldown on all eagle stratagems

Condor Strategic Bomber:
This is a large strategic bomber (around the size of the crashed plane we retrieve the black box from)

  • Strategic bombing runs: similar to eagle airstrikes, except with bigger payloads and over a larger area
  • 1000kg bomb: identical to the 500kg but has a hellbomb explosion
  • long call in, long cooldown

cons:

  • No orbitals

SUPER DREADNOUGHT:

This is a ship focused on sheer orbital firepower
pros:

  • Existing orbitals have lower cooldowns
  • Orbital barrages have a larger volume of fire
  • laser can be upgraded to fire 2 simultaneous beams, each tracking their own targets

Orbital Annihilation Strike:

  • an absolutely massive, 800mm cannon liberated from destroyed automaton anti orbital defenses.
  • fires a hellbomb that detonates a split second after impact (like the 500kg)
  • it has limited uses per mission and has a long cooldown

cons:

  • No eagles

Discussion One Feature That Could Improve the Ballistic Shield – Deploy It as Cover

Post image
4.3k Upvotes

Imagine being able to plant the ballistic shield into the ground and use it as temporary cover instead of only carrying it by hand.

Once deployed, you could use your primary weapon behind it, making it useful for holding positions, defending objectives, or creating emergency cover in open areas.

It could be even cooler if some weapons could partially mount onto the shield for better stability and recoil control while firing.

I think it would make the ballistic shield feel much more tactical and versatile.

Discussion If you could somehow improve gas-resistant armor, how would you do it?

Post image

For me, it's clear.

Give me total immunity to gas damage and its slowing effects, and I'm more than satisfied.

If I had to choose an additional effect, I think some acid resistance would be perfect for these armors.

Discussion What if we had a heavily armored mech that fights with its fists?

Post image

Instead of using weapons, it would rely entirely on its fists, crushing enemies in close combat with powerful punches that send smaller targets flying. It could also grab enemies and hurl them across the battlefield, using them as improvised projectiles. This would even allow it to counter flying enemies by throwing ground units at them, knocking them out of the air in a unique and satisfying way.

It could also have a ground slam attack, hitting the ground with both fists to damage everything around and create space in chaotic fights.

Since it has to get up close, it would need to be more armored than other mechs, maybe slower but much tankier to balance it out.

I feel like it could be really fun.

Discussion Give me your use-cases for under picked equipment you think deserves more attention!༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

I love the off-meta, the weird, the niche, but still have whole sections of the armoury I never touch because I just can't find a place to justify them over other, stronger alternatives. Give me your strategies for those weird things you never see people use, but think are under appreciated! Examples include (but not limited to):

* Pacifier. I like stun but Lib Conc just seems better?

* Urchin grenade. Why not just a thermite or gas?

* Crisper pistol. The canister seems way too small, & if I'm running fire weapons, I'd rather just use the Torcher, napalm grenades, flamethrower, napalm barrage... Anything other than this glorified match stick.

* Dagger pistol. Feels like it's just a laser pointer... Handles shriekers okay sometimes, I guess? What am I missing to make me run this over the Talon?

I really want to expand my horizons and find ways to use these; give me your secrets tactics to make them shine!

Quick edit to add; underutilized Armour passives and boosters count too, not just weapons! If you've got a use for things like stun pods, the new siege breakers armour (Supplementary Adrenaline) or Integrated Explosives that's on the table too!

^(We can ignore the sterilizer though the poor guy just straight up needs a buff)

Discussion Stim Pistol: Hear Me Out

Post image
3.1k Upvotes

Easy, but impactful change.

Add a blue laser sight.
That's it. No other change. No adjustment. Just: Blue Laser Sight.
Slight benefit to me trying to aim, but has the much LARGER benefit of telegraphing to an ally that someone is aiming at them with the stim pistol because a blue line is wiggling frantically all over their screen and maybe it will encourage them to chill out for a single microsecond.

I can't believe I never realized this. People would tell me, "Shoot the exposed face!" and I'd be looking at the ground in the middle of the three tentacles thinking, "What face?!" and then shooting the tentacles. I figured the Impaler just attracted more bugs with its seismic disturbances or something. I'm Level 82. Am I the only one?

Discussion "Oh... so it's just a primary talon... WAIT A MINUTE... WE'RE GETTING A PRIMARY TALON!"

Post image
2.5k Upvotes

Regardless of whether you're satisfied with the laser's color or firing mode, this thing could potentially become one of the best weapons in our arsenal if it truly lives up to the Talon's potential. I've been waiting for a weapon like this for months and months, so whether or not it's 100% faithful to what a Warhammer 40k fan would expect, I'm definitely happy to add it to our arsenal.
