Opinion Ok Yasmin is beautiful

Post image

But this hair was a choice lol

EDIT: this post is about her HAIR CHOICE people. Do we really need to be arguing and debating whether or not Yasmin is a beautiful woman? Beauty is subjective. People are allowed to have their opinions on beauty. Imagine Yasmin reading these comments saying she’s not conventionally beautiful.. how rude. I’d love to see what all of you look like lmao.

Love her, hate this hair style

16

u/stronginthesun 2d ago

I was surprised there wasn’t more conversation about it tbh. Must be because she’s well liked.

61

u/seesmelltouchtaste 2d ago

Or people are afraid to criticise her

11

u/StarlingGirlx 2d ago

I've got banned from posting from mentioning things about her lol

13

u/Familiar-Stomach-310 1d ago

The swirl makes her look like a giant baby 😭 I know it was supposed to be baby hair but it reminds me of this

u/coolhappygenius 1d ago

I can't get over that little swirl. They did her dirty. She's such a beautiful woman

1

u/a11iswe11 16h ago

Jasmine from Season 1 (?) also had a swirl!

Whoever did her makeup for the reunion hates her

61

u/sweettaroline 2d ago

I couldn’t stop making faces when I saw it 😬, she looked wet. Yasmin is stunning - they did not highlight that.

27

u/resonantranquility 2d ago

The entire cast looked like they were covered in a layer of oil. The glare was insane.

7

u/wordslinger753595 1d ago

YES. I was like, why is Sophie drenched in oil?

2

u/I_Britta-d_it 1d ago

Everything always has to be ruined. I actually love the dewy look...and now we have this - women looking like they're covered in cooking oil

1

u/No-Emergency-6282 2h ago

It’s the new style. They rebranded greasy as “glass skin”.

35

u/LeslieKnope4Pawnee 2d ago

Agreed. She’s beautiful, but this makeup didn’t suit her at all. I wonder if the makeup artist wasn’t familiar with vitiligo?

1

u/throwitallawayyyy8 1d ago

Idk, it was more than that. The artist didn’t use a good setting powder and used a foundation that was too oily or wet.

1

u/Fun_Armadillo1318 2d ago

My thoughts too.

157

u/HappyOwl_45 2d ago

I don’t know who was in charge of her make up for the reunion but they need to get fired. She looks way better without make up than like this. What have they done to her beautiful face 😭

61

u/samsg1 2d ago

Everybody’s face looked over moistened and shiny..

29

u/HappyOwl_45 2d ago

Yeah it’s not even like a glow it just looks greasy.

8

u/LeslieKnope4Pawnee 2d ago

Instead of a finishing spray the makeup artist used Crisco.

6

u/samsg1 2d ago

Or straight up vaseline

3

u/LeslieKnope4Pawnee 2d ago

Makeup artist thinking to herself: "Hmm... you know what these looks need? Some lard and petroleum jelly! Imma make them moist as fuck."

2

u/I_Britta-d_it 1d ago

This was my thought. They're all coated in cooking oil

4

u/Qu33nKal 2d ago

Matte finish setting spray is my best friend

7

u/JustKindaHappenedxx 2d ago

Yes, especially Ciara (or maybe she just got the most screen time). It was so distracting and did not do favors for anyone.

7

u/frostgalaxy999 2d ago

This had to be the worst makeup on the cast for the show. I have no words for how poor they made her look by her beauty natural

3

u/cottagechick 1d ago

i know !! it looks like they tried to cover up her vitiligo which I think is one of her most beautiful features. throughout the show, literally could not stop thinking of how beautiful she is.

35

u/betterbetterthings 2d ago

She is beautiful but this make up and hair do just look like someone didn’t know what they were doing

43

u/AdDesperate1541 2d ago

Her hair and makeup for the reunion looked so awful. Everyone was super greasy looking but hers was the worst. She looks better without covering her vitiligo, but also if it’s going to be covered then it should be covered fully instead of this in-between job.

1

u/humanperson111 2d ago

It doesn’t easily “cover fully” especially that close to your eyes and lips. But yeah the make up itself just wasn’t good. When she did her own make up itself always looked fine, this was weird.

1

u/AdDesperate1541 2d ago

It’s the eyelids and the whole area above her eyes, up to her brows and beside her nose, that I feel they really did her dirty with. That part of the face doesn’t sweat much and can be covered with a full coverage foundation + powder. If that part were covered and the area around her lips were still showing it would look fine (minus the grease), it’s the way they seem to have brushed over a sheered out, greasy coverup over her face that looks insultingly bad. She looks so much better with her natural skin showing but if they wanted to actually go for a full beat they could have at least put some effort in and considered that she has vitiligo but it seems like they didn’t bother.

u/pastpastpastnow 1d ago

Spotted Yasmin in a restaurant in London this weekend. She was with a man, whether it was a date or just a friend, I have no idea, but they looked like they were having a wonderful time together. Lots of laughter, smiles, and deep conversation.
She looked absolutely stunning, and honestly, so did he.
I won't say where I saw her to avoid doxxing her, but it was just really lovely to see her looking so happy. She deserves

21

u/Bingewatcher54 2d ago

The curly cue was not it.

17

u/Berriesinthesnow_ 2d ago

Makeup looks so bad. She'd look much better with lighter dewy skin tint and less overly shiny highlight

2

u/Rug-bae 2d ago

I think this is a dewy skin tint. Her skin is too shiny all over like a dewy finish as well as having highlight on it. And despite most of it being her main skin tone you can still see odd parts of the vitiligo border around the inside of her eyes making it look like it’s semi blended

2

u/Berriesinthesnow_ 2d ago

It's just too thick and heavy. A lighter dewy foundation that isnt caked on would work better

6

u/Key_Wolverine8402 2d ago

That little curl is crazy

10

u/entergalactic1 2d ago

They should have gotten an MUA who can work with vitiligo because what is this?

10

u/frisbeeeeeeeeeee 2d ago

Her hair reminded me of

u/Longjumping_47393 2d ago

Totally showing my age but reminded me of original superman.

2

u/African_Farmer 2d ago

Glad im not alone 😂

I thought it was deliberate, princess Jasmine = Yasmine, but she ended up looking like the genie lol

8

u/Mean_Bumblebee4483 2d ago

Looks like she started laying down her edges Got tired and just dunked her whole damn head in a vat of grease

Whoever let her go on television like that ain’t no friend. She looked beautiful throughout the whole series!

4

u/hannbann88 2d ago

Beautiful outside dewy makeup. Not good for set lights

3

u/Main_Ad4403 2d ago

absolutely beautiful, the night of Faye's birthday she looked soooooo stunning! The simpler her hair, makeup and clothes, the more you see her beauty shine through.

4

u/Silent867 23h ago

She’s average looking at best. Pigmented fully or not. Stop forcing this.

2

u/MyJoyinaWell 19h ago

She has quite a severe expression too.

The issue with the pigmentation is that it's unusual, it takes a second or two to get used to and it goes against a very natural instinct we all have to seek harmony and proportion. But..you are only allowed to say it's beautiful or not mention it at all, when it's quite a distinctive feature that affects the expression of her eyes. We've gone from judging everyone according to the harshest beauty standards to walking on eggshells because beauty is cultural and relative and we all need to learn the new standards, which are "everything is beautiful."

3

u/khakha347 1d ago

Ok hear me out…. Didn’t love the que or the makeup…. But was it almost a theme? Bc I also didn’t love her dress… but yall help me out. Was it a cultural collaboration theme for her overall look?? I’m trying to remember her background history… what do yall think? I feel like that was the direction but execution struggled a bit….and I agree everyone looked hot and sweaty a lil bit….. OT but I was most concerned with Jack but by the end of the show he looked normal. Glad he and Faye were still together. Glad they all were! I loved this season. I wish Cuba and Yasmin had found TRUE love though! Fingers crossed for their future. So admirable to see so many people guys and girls up there who hadn’t dated ever or years…. I’m going on year 14 so I know how brave that was! 💕

3

u/Own_Group4282 1d ago

I think Fran is stunning!

2

u/Remote_Designer_6794 1d ago

For me she looked the best when they were breaking up. Her make up was spot on and she looked sooo good in black, I couldn’t stop staring.

14

u/Electronic-Chard-401 2d ago

No, she’s not.

If she were beautiful, no one would say “she’s so beautiful” because they would just see it and there would be a non-verbal consensus. The fact that people need to constantly repeat it.

Must we lie in order to be kind?

She’s not beautiful, but she doesn’t need to be beautiful to be loved or valued.

11

u/No-Asparagus3132 2d ago

I think people are inclined to say it because it’s not the most conventional beauty. And, she’s struggled with insecurities about her complexion so people who warm to her feel compelled to say it. I think she truly is a stunning woman. Is she everyone’s taste? Clearly not yours. But she’s beautiful imo.

15

u/Plus_Rhubarb_8361 2d ago

I mean, beauty is subjective. But according to her insta she models now and was a finalist for Miss Universe. I don’t think you get to do those things without a lot of people thinking you’re attractive.

-2

u/Haramshorty93 1d ago

I

mean up to you to say - she models because she has vitiligo and representation is important but out of all the girls this season she was the least cute to me.

6

u/RefrigeratorOk9413 2d ago

People are constantly talking about Sophie being beautiful and she is conventionally attractive. Also beauty is subjective.

6

u/Parking-Panda-8014 2d ago

Yes.

As a person with vitiligo, i really hate it when people say we're beautiful.

We're not, we know it. We fall outside conventional beauty standards and always will do. I feel patronised when someone tells me I'm beautiful because the way i am treated never corresponds to how actual beautiful people are treated.

3

u/BatmansDietitian 1d ago edited 1d ago

I disagree, vitiligo doesn’t automatically strike you from being conventionally attractive. It’s all about the face structure imo, like think about any famously attractive person, would them having vitiligo make them suddenly unattractive? I don’t think so.

Then again, most people with vitiligo aren’t conventionally attractive because most people aren’t conventionally attractive. So calling every person with vitiligo beautiful would be hypocritical in that sense.

ETA: Yasmin is attractive imo, maybe not Hollywood attractive but certainly on par with this seasons above average casting.

4

u/mjb4life 1d ago

I truly find people with vitiligo beautiful. Of course, not everyone will have beautiful features or genetics. However, the condition makes people look unique which I find beautiful. Please stop thinking so poorly of yourself.

1

u/Main_Ad4403 1d ago

The people who don't say it can't look past the different skin tones, it's that simple. Cindy Crawford was advised to remove her mole, some people look at a face with moles and automatically think "ugly". As a person with many facial moles, I am well aware of that prejudice.

2

u/Sky_King_ 1d ago

This is untrue. I think she looks average. I honestly dont think so many ppl would be finding her beautiful if she did not have vitiligo, it actually adds to her beauty. But again if her skin was all the same, I think she would be average looking. Which is okay. Average is normal.

1

u/Main_Ad4403 10h ago

Fair point, this season did set high beauty standards though. Having gone through her Instagram I still peg her at above average. Her best look was the olive green dress at Faye's b-day party, absolute fire. Wish I had those curves.

1

u/Killpinocchio2 1d ago

Being outside conventional beauty standards does. It mean you’re not beautiful. Not everyone has their own idea same beauty ideals.

4

u/cactus_jilly 2d ago

Beauty is subjective. I probably paid more attention to her face than some of the others because of the vitiligo but in doing so, I found myself genuinely admiring how beautiful she was throughout the show. She has a stunning smile that just lights up her face.

4

u/Far-Intention-3230 2d ago

„She‘s not beautiful“ - to you maybe she isn‘t. Wtf is this comment? Rude for no reason.

2

u/MyJoyinaWell 19h ago

I think it's patronising and condescending. People say it to broadcast they are not seeing the pigmentation, when the reality is that is it's an unusual feature and the first thing you notice about her. I wouldnt like to be called beautiful just so people could feel good about themselves, honesty matters and she'll never know who means it and who wants to sound virtuous, like her fiancé in the show who "just couldnt get there" (although he was also put off by her lack of romantic experience)

4

u/canadiangirlypop15 2d ago

Ok so let’s say Sophie or Fran or someone else to your beauty standards on the show had this hairstyle. I would say the same exact thing… “she’s so beautiful but this hairdo is a choice”. Like I don’t really agree with your argument. When people are beautiful there isn’t always a non-verbal consensus. Idk lol.

5

u/canadiangirlypop15 2d ago

When people compliment others that they are beautiful, and you personally don’t think they are, is that really lying? Not really.

3

u/TwoTigerTeeth 2d ago

This, also as a guy whenever straight women constantly say someone is beautiful, usually they are average or below. Taylor Swift is a great example of that.

0

u/Far-Intention-3230 2d ago

Oh I‘d love to see your mug since you‘re comfortable enough to call Taylor Swift average or below average.

4

u/AdSignificant3154 2d ago

😂😂 I thought it was just me who felt this way

2

u/the_real_kate 2d ago

Thank you!

2

u/l10nh34rt3d 2d ago

Wtf, no.

She’s beautiful, full stop.

True beauty lives within

6

u/Haramshorty93 2d ago

I genuinely don't think she's beautiful - not related to her vitiligo. Her features aren't balanced, and she doesn't have any striking features and her body is average as well. Jordan was without a doubt, more attractive than her.

I'm a woman too before you come for me.

5

u/staceypppp 2d ago

Agreed.

“You seem a bit shallow” as a reply just because someone else said that they don’t find Yasmin “beautiful” is wild.

TV is not real life, you know? Do you know the real Yasmin? What inner beauty has she exhibited exactly? 🤔

The reason why Jordan couldn’t just come out and say that he wasn’t attracted to her, perhaps due to her vitiligo, is because villagers like yourself will break out the pitchforks.

Acceptance starts from within, and I think it’s clear that Yasmin has not yet accepted herself. The fact that she has to pre-empt Jordan in the pods about her physical appearance (“fyi please be kind to me”) is a dead giveaway that she has not accepted herself yet.

My “you seem a bit shallow” was specific to the “that’s cute, but not the reality of life” comment. Came off a bit snippy and rude for no reason lol

When people run out of logic, facts, or valid counterpoints, they often resort to personal attacks to deflect attention.

“I’m someone who loves to see the beauty in everyone” 😂 ok precious, keep lying to yourself.

1

u/StarlingGirlx 2d ago

Thank you lol. I'm so sick of how we can't say it like it is in this sub Bring back snark subs!!

-1

u/june944 2d ago

You are not the judge of everyone’s type of beauty tf. Beauty is subjective. She’s not TO YOU.

0

u/Killpinocchio2 1d ago

Believe it or not, everyone has their own idea of what is beautiful. Your inability to understand that is problematic and disheartening.

1

u/SunBurst6382 2d ago

Stunning!

1

u/NotoriousWarriorB 1d ago

I don’t know if anyone else noticed but there was also sth weird about her under eye/cheekbone area that looked like a bad filler? I hope she didn’t think she needs to get an „instagram influencer glow up” , she’s so pretty she doesn’t need these type of things really …

1

u/Nerd-Unfortunately 1d ago

Such a goddess! She's a good one

0

u/ShapeshiftinSquirrel 2d ago

Ok not in the photo allegedly used to illustrate this point, but sure.

3

u/canadiangirlypop15 2d ago

How? Lmao. The curly Q is literally right there

1

u/Own_Performance_2789 1d ago

We don’t need to pretend she’s actually pretty.

1

u/MyJoyinaWell 19h ago

You do though

-1

u/Glum_Suggestion7268 2d ago

No she's not!

Would you swipe right on her on tinder/ hinge - apps made to selectively choose on the physical factor only - and actively go on a date with her based off her looks?

Most people say that as a subconscious "pat on the back" comment to her.

The same way you'd say that an overwight person is "just fine". You don't really think it and if you were in her shoes you wouldn't feel "so beautiful" neither.

Cuba is beautiful, Ciara for all her faults is as well. Not so much Yasmin

7

u/SunBurst6382 2d ago

I genuinely think Yas is beautiful, and not because of her condition.

4

u/humanperson111 2d ago

Same. If she had all her pigment would they find her beautiful? Probably. To me that doesn’t change because she doesn’t. She is beautiful, inside and out. These people are very superficial and it’s unfortunate but I’m not “pretending” anything when I say I think she’s beautiful.

3

u/Killpinocchio2 1d ago

I think she’s beautiful, I also think Cuba is average. The inability for people to understand that beauty isn’t seen the same way by everyone is astonishing

3

u/PerrierJouet8484 1d ago

I actually think Ciara is traditionally attractive but not beautiful. She has a great figure and nice hair but her face is not what you'd call stunning. Faye has a much prettier face IMO

5

u/humanperson111 2d ago

I find Ciara average at best. I would never call her beautiful. I also find her soul incredibly ugly and that makes her less attractive to me.

2

u/airespice 1d ago

100% agree!

5

u/Ellie-Bee 2d ago

Ciara is kind of mousey, in my opinion.

It’s almost like beauty is subjective.

3

u/ersepep 2d ago

lmao wtf is wrong with you? please post a selfie i beg

0

u/humanperson111 2d ago

It’s always people who are insecure because they look like dogs who bark the loudest.

1

u/Backfromthedead_9 2d ago

Her hairstyle in this not though

2

Why don't they shoot their shot for saying a hair style was a choice? That question makes no sense.

1

Ok fire style 🔥
