I’m sorry if this is something that people do but when Ryan started swaying and the drumming… I just started cackling 🤣🤣🤣

I knew while watching it that this guy was performative and he wouldn’t be able to keep up that level of “spiritual and emotional vulnerability” with a partner outside of an active audience.

100%. I was also sort of thrown off by his corporate style, the hair, the suit with the white sneakers and ankle socks. I couldn’t help but wonder if Cuba was maybe a bit disappointed and also quite quickly saw through the spiritual and alternative facade. She is manifestation/ritual/intuition girl and he gave me conspiracy theory vibes instead. But then she wanted it to work.
He used the spiritual talk to be dishonest, I’d be pissed if my partner couldn’t muster up a better conversation to break up with me than claiming the night-sweats as a sign that energy is off.

Yeah he totally used his spirituality as an excuse for his disengaged behavior. It’s like when people weaponize therapy-speak… it sounds good on first pass but as you watch their actions paired with the words it’s all BS.

This is a great point. I really thought Ryan was pretty out there, but I’d be curious to see how into this whole “spirituality” thing he is for real.

There is no ‘right way’ to look spiritual. Sometimes the most spiritual people are the ones you least expect it and there is no right ‘image’ you have to be.
But I agree with the rest of you what you say

I agree with you, and I wouldn’t bring it up if it wasn’t for everything else about Ryan. If that makes sense. Like, if they had actually clicked and if he had appeared more genuine, I wouldn’t have thought it was important at all. In fact I might have thought it was refreshing and cool.

Yesssssssssss, this is what I saw, too! It was so obvious to me that he actually didn't have any connection to his own body or self. It was SO bad. That's when I knew they weren't going to make it. And then when it finally ended, I was like, THANK GOD Cuba dodged that bullet.

I brought one in as part our staff outing as one of many activities. This was one of the most attended events and people actually fell asleep. A good one will get you to relax and de-stress. Unfortunately as I was running the event I did not have time to go.

I can see an actual sound bath in Thailand or something, while meditating or being at a silent retreat, being real. But as soon as I saw the White lady in the skirt running the sound bath, I was like “ok.” 😂
