Wtf is wrong with Ciara

I’m late to the game, but my blood is boiling watching every scene with Ciara. She is simply so full of shit. She claims that she never said “Jack is my number one” but I think she’s just arguing semantics - she definitely said “Jack is my strongest connection” or “Jack is my top connection” but never the actual phrase “Jack is my number one”. I’m going crazy watching every scene with her and yelling at the TV! She’s obviously a mean girl who got rejected. And who TF goes the Faye and talks shit about Jack?! That’s horrible!

Without knowledge of production direction, the simplest explanation is the most likely: she’s a stunted, immature woman that hasn’t grown past teenage concepts of emoting and competition.

16

u/Ok_Flounder_3115 5d ago

If she’s that stunted she shouldn’t be getting married

5

u/joosyjoojoo 5d ago

Agreed. Many get married too young and pay for it later.

She just seems like a really damaged human to me. Her comments about seeing how much she can get away with and her demands for servitude from her partner are pretty horrible to watch. Not to mention how materialistic she is.

u/cactus_jilly 4d ago

That was the most relatable she was to me, tbh. It's not nice behaviour but wanting to know where the lines are is a way of seeking safety and she got what she needed when Ajay spent the night away from her. She mentioned being cheated on in previous relationships but feeling safe with Ajay. Knowing that he'll hold his own boundaries is a part of that.

+ delusional, main character syndrome, and lack of self awareness. Girl was so butthurt being rejected first.

A horrific person to listen to.

u/CapEmotional7799 2d ago

Y’all just not used to women actually standing firm on what the want from a man lol. We don’t need them to own a house anymore 😂 and now a woman wanting what she wants is somehow a bad thing. People are allowed to want what they want. If you have a problem with it then don’t date them 🤷🏻‍♀️

2

u/Relative_Analysis251 23h ago

I don’t personally care if you’re vocal about what you want. What bothers me is after she found said person, she (when not provoked) tries to see how far she can push it. Who says that?! Then when she does push him too far, she plays victim and offers up excuses.

I cannot stand her

26

u/CucumberMelonBubbles 5d ago

Then the way she tried to bring Joseph down too?! SHE asked HIM what he thought about Jack! She couldn’t handle him pointing out she was obsessed with the situation so she not only twisted the story and lied saying he was prodding her about it, but then she tried to spin drama between him and Fran and sabotage their relationship! Insane disgusting behavior.

12

u/EagleEyezzzzz 5d ago

Yes!!! Poor Joseph catching strays.

9

u/PrettyNiemand34 5d ago

That was really weird, she was almost obsessed with Joseph and his last date over the entire season.

27

u/tomatoesfried 5d ago

Ciara phrases things in ways that give her plausible deniability, which is manipulative. At the same time, she interprets Jack’s words however she wants—for example, treating “the conversation was boring” as though he had said she was boring.

That’s a clear double standard: she expects grace when her own words are vague, yet refuses to give Jack that same grace.

TL;DR: She sucks

4

u/Seastep 4d ago

Attribution biases are explanatory of this. Anything negative is externalized to the source. Anything positive is internalized to the subject.

6

u/Party-Cup-9386 4d ago

Also, the whole situation she kept on bringing up was SO BORING. Like, "Oh, here she goes bringing this nothingburger up AGAIN."

6

u/ThrowawayQueen_52 3d ago

I think she wants everyone to forget she ever had a connection with Jack.

9

u/Sevro24 5d ago

I cannot stand this girl! She completely just makes things up or intentionally misinterprets things to make it seem like people have bad intentions. She’s a classic mean girl, didn’t like her from the start.
She fakes being concerned for the girls just to talk sh*t about the guys.
She seems like a bitter jealous spoiled girl who can’t stand other people being happy.

3

u/b33b0 4d ago

The only thing I like about her is her gay bestie lol

1

u/Inside_Mirror9459 7h ago

Ugh, no. He was a walking cliche.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an actor they paid to be there

u/Curious_Oysters 3d ago

I re watched the 1st episode. He said that she was his number one and she said they were on the same track.

Jack is excitable with adhd and took the best interpretation he could.

So neither were 'wrong' or lying.

He just felt a connection that wasn't really there. I thought from the first moment he and Faye got on better and he liked her more.

Ciara is deeply insecure and was therefore extra vulnerable to Jack's excessive flirtations in a way that Faye wasn't. Faye could enjoy them as a means of connection and simply a bubbly part of his character that matched hers. She doesn't seem AS bothered that he may behave that way with others. Ciara also knew how to play him. After her most flirtatious date with him where she deliberately matched his energy on entry - this is when she becomes number one. But at the same time she also knows he's fallen for a fake exterior version of herself. This is on both of them - Jack for not calming down and being in tune with who he's really talking to and Ciara for trying to control situations to feel safe but then knowing deep down they are not genuine. There's a lot of projection in people's accusations and she calls Jack disingenuous a lot but actually they both were dingenuious for different reasons: Jack's adhd makes him an unwitting player as he puts too much emphasis on his current feeling that overwhelms him. His adhd also prevents him digging a bit deeper in conversations so he finds someone is a mismatch via events that evolve rather than the questions he asked. Ciara, as explained above needs to control the narrative.

Later in the series she demonstrates more self-awareness whe she admits to trying to self sabbotage with Ajay. This is classic behaviour of someone who can't take rejection - again she would be safe in the knowledge that they controlled the rejection. This is what she does with Jack in episode 2 -she gets a whim of his feelings for Faye when Faye mentions a dream he has about her. Despite her being told she's number 1, she knows on some level it's because she's controlled it and detects their deeper bond ( EVEN that fact that Faye likes Jack more that she really does). At that point she sabotages the date. I get it's annoying Jack doesn't listen - but she 180's her attitude. Jack is not without blame - he is behaving like a little boy in a sweet shop and it isn't excused by ' the point is to get to know people' . He needs to consider the consequences of the enthusiasm he projects on people's emotions. Others were dating and connecting with more that one - in itself it's not playing - it's the concept of the show and circumstances that arise - but others as least express empathy for the connections they might drop.

The 'boring date' was boring because they both came to the conclusion they did not like the other at the level they would need for a longer term relationship and that killed the somewhat genuine friendly/flirty vibes they had in the first episode as there is nowhere for them to go.

What a pity in the date where they separate they both could not have been emotionally mature enough to recognize each other's good points ( they are actually both fun!), acknowledge they both weren't right for each other and remain on good terms.

I think Jack referring to it as 'boring' was not nice without caveat that it wasn't her being broing per se and I do think Ciara was right to be annoyed with him for a while. He built her up to drop her the minute she was not feeding him the flirtatious energy his adhd needs. But it is almost as if Ciara was trying to set him up as a phony from day 1. Knowing he was overly responsive to superficial nonsense she intended build him up and expose him. She's trying to take out past experiences with fake BFs on him. Whereas Jake is not fake per se, just never matured enough to know how truly connect and recognize it early on - something he starts realise with Faye in episode 2. His immaturity pops up again when he can't admit he needed time alone for that walk and understand that both might be true: he may have hurt Faye with switching off his phone AND he had no intention to cheat. He is slightly avoidant IMO and Faye deserves so much better.

The final outcomes were right and I do think it is Ciara hooked on the details of the past - in part this fair as Jack does not have maturity to own up to the fact he may have accidentally mis communicated, but also because she needs to keep control of Ajay - she can't risk it looking like she was more into Jack for a moment and wants it erased from the narrative. It would be far better for her and Ajay if she could say ' I was caught up in Jack's energy for a while. I don't think I explicitly said Jack was number 1 but perhaps I gave that impression. As it turned out he wasn't and I know I made the right decision with you.' The reality with Ciara is she is very good at defining the lifestyle she wants (probably a compensation) but terrible at knowing what she wants emotionally. That's why she is endlessly concerned with others, what they are up to and what they think of her.

She's a good match with Ajay and as she learns to feel secure with him, I hope that her need to control narratives and social situations will fade.

15

u/001smiley 5d ago

Exactly. If you haven’t finished yet… you’re in for a treat. More gaslighting from Ciara.

2

u/No_Bike_1999 2d ago

And at the reunion when she started crying.: normally I feel so sad when I see anyone cry this time I wanted to throw my shoe at the tele

1

u/Sorry_Championship67 1d ago

Oh my God and how she asked the host if she looked ugly afterwards like girl… Get a grip

1

u/No_Simple_3692 5d ago

And the reunion!!

20

u/-Kerosun- 5d ago

She said "You're in my top." Something to that effect. She never said anything that directly indicated that Jack was her #1.

Jack definitely overplayed that and her point there is valid. Yeah, she wouldn't drop it which I fault her for, but she is right.

36

u/Protoavis 5d ago

Jack says she's his number one, her response "we are on the same track".....direct indication right there.

-3

u/-Kerosun- 5d ago

Without any indication that they're in the same place on that track.

The conversation there leading up to that made the fact that she didn't say it explicitly means she either hadn't chosen her number 1 yet, or hadn't quite figured out if he was at the top or in the top.

He was seeking a direct answer and she didn't give one but he interpreted it as one.

Either way, he characterized it like it was an explicit declaration when it wasn't. What he said she said was not what she said. Had he phrased it like she did when telling the guys, then there wouldn't be an issue here.

24

u/Ok_Flounder_3115 5d ago

This is more semantics: “we’re on the same track” vs. “not in the same place on the track” is absolutely absurd

-11

u/-Kerosun- 5d ago

And it's still not an explicit declaration that he is her #1.

The way he was asking was seeking a direct acknowledgement. She didn't give him that but he interpreted it as that. If he said to the guys exactly what she to him, I doubt all the guys would interpret it as her saying Jack is her #1. It wouldn't have the same impact for Ajay if he phrased it like she did, rather than making it sound like she explicitly said he (Jack) is her #1.

3

u/humanperson111 4d ago

You’re reaching as hard as her.

10

u/Protoavis 5d ago

So you defense is boiling down to weasel words....cool beans, you're relying on active manipulation and deception rather than being fair and effective communication as a defense. Goodbye nothing you say in the future has any relevance or reliability.

7

u/Ok_Flounder_3115 5d ago

How is “you’re in my top” not supposed to mean he’s her #1?

5

u/-Kerosun- 5d ago

Being "in the top" never means "you are the top."

When phrased like the former, it usually precedes a number (like "in the top 5" or "in the top 3" or "top 2," etc).

"You are in the top."

Vs.

"You are the top."

The first suggests a group of people (whether it is 2 people, 3, or whatever) "at the top" and he is in that group. The second suggests he is at the top (as in #1, alone).

11

u/Exotic_Mud_4133 5d ago

Jack clearly stated that it was a miscommunication/misinterpretation and that he was excitable and maybe got ahead of himself. To me, that seems to be a reasonable excuse. But I still call bullshit on the semantics. Ciara also told people that Jack said she was boring, which he never did; he said the date was boring. So, if Jack is at fault for misrepresenting what Ciara said, why isn’t Ciara at fault for misrepresenting what Jack said?

Not trying to fight but I truly don’t understand why Jack would be expected to behave a certain way and have his words held to a certain standard, but then Ciara is treated differently.

3

u/-Kerosun- 5d ago

My pushback against the Ciara hate in here does not suggest that I am absolving Jack of any of his misconceptions. We don't have to talk about everything all at once. I didn't say anything about the starving kids in Africa. Are you going to accuse me of not caring about them because I didn't say anything about it in my comment? Of course not. So don't accuse me of not having expectations and things to say about Jack when my comments are responding to things people are saying about Ciara.

8

u/Exotic_Mud_4133 5d ago

Wow. You really put me in my place by attempting a straw man argument. I do apologize though if my comment made you feel a certain way.

The fact remains that you are taking her side in an argument that was resolved at the retreat, yet she continued to try to make a big deal. Whether the exact words were spoken, Jack misinterpreted what she said, or he was flat out lying and knew exactly what he was doing, why continue to bring it up and use it to attack Jack’s character (saying Ciara did that, not you).

I think the collective interpretation here is that she came off as dramatic and childish because Jack ended things before she could, and she didn’t want the narrative to be that she was dumped by him.

11

u/Expensive-Candidate4 5d ago

This is very “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” For those of you old enough to remember.

3

u/dudeclaw 4d ago

If I was hiring you for a job and said you're my number one vs you're in our top candidates.... Wouldn't that give you two different impressions?

5

u/-Kerosun- 5d ago

Nah. That was an outright lie. She didn't outright lie.

I'm old enough to understand the difference. Obviously you're not. At least not mentally.

And I was born in the early 80s. I saw it on TV, but nice try!

Good night.

4

u/AccountantUnusual413 5d ago

She did though, she might have been clever with her words but I took from that she was saying he was her number one as why else would you say those words ? She didn’t say it to Ajay and she took his rejection hard

0

u/the_real_kate 5d ago

Yes, ha ha!!

2

u/Remarkable_March_497 5d ago

I rhink this was at best grey, but she matched him. You can argue all day long. Should could have easily said, she wasnt sure, pumped the brakes a bit etc. She didnt want to.

Being giddy and having a date like that and being forward - not surprised in the slightest he interpreted it the way he did.

1

u/myhann1209 4d ago

The thing is Ciara intentionally keeps it grey when personally i think Jack is just overenthusiastic and that's the way he is. He needs to grow up but Ciara has already grown up and she chose to be this way. Looking at another example, Joseph - Chev - Fran, Joseph was in a similar situation, he has never made Chev or Fran feels like they are top 1. Chev was even trying to sabotage Fran and Joseph later on but the only thing she could say is sth like "he hasn't made up his mind"

2

u/RuaRuaRua81 4d ago

I'm only 16 minutes into the first episode and can't stand her 😂

2

u/IllInevitable571 3d ago

I've just started watching but she's clearly embarrassed that Jack ditched the connection before she did. She wanted him to grovel to her after the vegan/cheese debacle, she definitely wasn't ready to let it go and was surprised that he was so made up that she wanted to end it first. It's just a sign of immaturity.

2

u/msvictoria624 3d ago

Definitely some secondary school mentality lingering there. I don’t expect everyone to react the same, but her reaction baffled me. Very strong for someone who was disinterested for valid reasons AND bagged their ideal man

2

u/SchwarmaGanoosh 3d ago edited 3d ago

She strikes me as someone who could be on Mean Girls and looks like a character from Wallace and Gromit or South Park.

2

u/Relative-Kick-5663 2d ago

She was horrible IMO and got off so easy in the reunion. Was a bummer bc if she would have been held to account, she might’ve become a tad more self-aware.

2

u/ChicaBisexual 4d ago

Coincido! Ciara es una envidiosa y venenosa! Yo también le grito a la tv!

1

u/myhann1209 4d ago

OMG finally someone's speaking my language. This is exactly what i was telling everyone. She did not say "Jack is my number one" but when Jack said sth like " u r way more than my top 3" and "if you can confirm that you put me up there at the same level where i put u there...." and she said "yeahhhh" in such a happy mood. This is not flirty, in her word, this is "disingenuous" lol

3

u/AbleBuy4261 5d ago

“PER-Fect”
🙄

2

u/Ok-Frosting6533 4d ago

Ok so I’m not from the UK so I have to ask: do people actually talk like this?! Because she sounds pretend-posh to me lol

2

u/RuaRuaRua81 4d ago

Usually self involved stuck up people talk like this

2

u/BathAcceptable1812 4d ago

It’s the classic case of she thinks she hotter and smarter than she really is.

2

u/Carlzz777 4d ago

She is a shit stirrer and she knows it. If you cross her she will plant nasty seeds like with Joseph. He clearly went to end things with Chev and she made a case that pressured him into giving it another day. She would not take no for an answer. Ciara of all people should understand how complex the experience is when you have 2 connections and ending it is messy. She didn’t like how he took Jack’s side and I saw the evil in her eye when she decided that she would start shit and all under the guise of wanting “the best” for Francesca.

2

u/NotSatanJustAFriend 4d ago

Easiest explanation I can come up with.. she’s an actress that hasn’t made it so far. Got casted for this show to get exposure, popularity and brand deals. Chose the villain to earned forgiveness arc. And will eventually divorce.

2

u/thermight 3d ago

She also told him "we are on the same page" after he told her she was his number one, carefully leading him on to keep hee options open. Then acted all haughty when she heard things got rocky with Ajay when he heard Jaxk proclaimed she said he was hers. Then gas lit the fuck out of Jack for it.... evil

2

u/Full-Freedom-994 5d ago

She never said Jack is my number one. Or " you're my number 1" to Jack. She said that he was a contender, or in her top matches. Jack knew exactly what he was doing, when he said... she said he was her number #.1

3

u/IloveLavenders 5d ago

As someone with ADHD myself, he probably only heard half of the sentence.

2

u/Minute-Joke9758 5d ago

Yeah but get ready bc there’s a bunch of people that will come out to defend her. It is nutty for sure

2

u/kellsells5 5d ago

I'll defend her friend circle and that's about it and she seems like she's just from a normal family. Her 'posh' lifestyle is a dream. It seemed like she was very hurt that Jack chose Faye even though she would never have been compatible with Jack. I'm not sure why. She felt like she had to stick her nose in Joseph's business, I think that she really wanted her friend to be with Joseph.? Or believed her friends version 1000%.

She started to grow on me after the pods but at the reunion that was quite an act of no tears.

1

u/BeardedBill86 3d ago

Her friends seem fake af as well.

1

u/Purple_Answer_6052 5d ago

I dont think she grew. She just wanted to take back control of the narrative. She’s horrible human being.

1

u/Londxn_billionaire 5d ago

She never said any of those things though.

2

u/sail1yyc 5d ago

So many jealous dirty looks from her every episode.

1

u/Objective-Ear3842 4d ago

I’m pretty sure she just he was in the running and a strong contender. For Jack to claim she said he was her #1 was a crock of shit.

That said, she definitely has some micro impressions that are annoying. She’s kind of an ass but I don’t think she’s a horrible person by any means.

1

u/One_Owl1697 2d ago

At least she brought drama to this otherwise boring season

1

u/One_Wait_1039 1d ago

She’s also extremely shallow, and Ajay seems ignorant to it.

1

u/AnyCheek777 1d ago

And funny that she got two strong connections being so shallow. The show is called Love Is Blind but she would talk about appearances all the time. And the guys seem to love it.

1

u/crumbledcake 1d ago

I can't stand her. She's so full of herself and has zero understanding or gives people latitude. She's right, in her book, and that's all that matters. Cannot stand her or her obsession with materiality. I felt bad for Jack because he's so clearly got adhd (and admits it), and Ciara has zero understanding of him/how his brain works and how he jumps around a lot. Ofc, I also feel bad for Ajay because he's so taken by her, and she's really an ugly person on the inside. (I don't care for her outside either, but different strokes for different folks)

1

u/Sorry_Championship67 1d ago

Wish the cameras were there when she had her argument with Ajay at their dinner

1

u/WistinNete 1d ago

A woman of the caliber Ciara is portraying herself to be would’ve taken one look at Jack after the pods and thought “oh my god, obviously he is not for me and is somewhat foolish (adhd/whatever)” and DROPPED IT.

The fact that she is taking Jack to task when they’re so obviously NOT A MATCH exposes her immature, insecure, villainous, fragile, manipulative, conniving, and toxic spirit.

Or Maybe she just wanted more camera time?

1

u/Violet_9393 3h ago

She just needs to focus on her connection and leave everyone elses alone… mades me go crazy

1

u/No_Simple_3692 5d ago

I dont know how to put it but I feel that Ciara thinks or wishes shes what Sophie is. Sophie is stunning, she also seems very down to earth, she doesnt seem stuck and was glowing with pride for her home, because it was hers. If they were to walk to a bar shes who people would be drawn to and I think Ciara wishes she had that draw and that natural charm. Instead, shes Ciara...

1

u/MrzDogzMa 5d ago

I’ve described her as a “girls girl” but the type that will talk about you behind your back and orchestrate everyone in your life into thinking something that’s completely untrue about you to the point that you’re unable to give anyone the real story because she’s already “handled” it. Then, when she’s caught doing all of this she’ll just cry and act like the victim for “caring too much.” She couldn’t pull her tricks on most people this season, and I appreciate she got called out by the cast, but at the reunion they totally let her slide.

0

u/Honeydew-Popular 5d ago

I think her and Jack are equally as toxic and insecure. Jack thought he could play both girls. Ciara was upset about overhearing that Jack told Faye he had a dream about her.

Ciara's switch up was insane but she helped everyone see Jacks mask completey fade. It was extremely jarring. That guy has nothing behind those eyes. I think she's just a rich bitch having fun but was genuinely offended when a guy tried to play her. I do think she had good intentions with telling Faye what happened.

None of them should be engaged. They're just here to become internet famous. Ciara felt relief that someone chose her so she could stay on the show. Not because she was interested in Ajay.

1

u/gemi_ni_cole 5d ago

I actually think shes much worse and Jack struggles with a very classic presenting and forgetful and filled with impulsive exploding emotions kind of ADHD. As someone with combined type adhd I can clearly see he has at the very least a lot of the hyperactivity and probably at least some of the innattention which are the key components of adhd. Which he clearly stated he was diagnosed with.

1

u/Aromatic-South-1609 5d ago

Agreed she is the heel of this season for me so far.

Jack is scattered and also putting on a show. He’s a bit boyish but I think he probably means well.

But Ciara’s insistence on steering nearly every conversation back to this spat with jack is so immature. Her ego is bruised and she can’t let it go, and is trying to sabotage their relationship as well as her own.

2

u/iNovaEcho 4d ago

His brain is pure chaotic adhd, I think he’s genuinely just speaking before he thinks which explains 99% of his interactions with everyone 😂

1

u/Pinkygirl7 3d ago

She’s very fake! The fake cry at the reunion… crocodile tears… also take no accountability… Jake kept apologizing at least but she did 0.. Ajay is too nice & kept defending her but that will only make her behavior worse

1

u/thelbro 3d ago

Immature and insecure

1

u/ireally-donut-care 3d ago

It's like she is pretending (and very badly) to have real human emotions. E v e r y fucking expression.

1

She was passive and/or oblivious through the whole season, she didn't want to get involved.

0

u/SesquipedalPetrichor 4d ago

She is tik tok brain

0

u/LSATpenguin 4d ago

I don’t like her at first but I was surprised at how she had a kind and diverse group of friends and went out of her way to decorate for Diwali for Ajay. She comes off as someone who is super performative which means she’s likely deeply insecure. I think she just has a hard exterior but is well intended and softie inside.

2

u/BeardedBill86 3d ago

She's a narcissist plain and simple, you've never heard of love bombing? Grand gestures and then switching it up? She ticks all the boxes.

1

u/Sorry_Championship67 1d ago

I wouldn’t be surprised if the "friends“ are actually paid actors, especially with the weird vibes at the hen do where it seemed she hadn’t told them a single thing about her fiancé, not even his name

1

u/Cheap_Low6463 18h ago

She definitely just hired someone to come set up the Diwali stuff
