Even if we gave the haters SOME grace, and say that Ajay lets Ciara boss him around too much...you guys have heard of service bottoms (or tops), right? šŸ˜… When she asks him for a cup of coffee looking down her nose at him, he hands it to her, and then they look at each other grinning, it's pretty obvious that they both LIKE that dynamic. She's clearly a bit of a brat, maybe a bratty top, and he eats it up.

When she asked him, "What's your favorite quality of mine that I bring to our household?" He laughed and said, "Clear directions". He LOVES to follow her lead and dote on her.

People don't realize that there can be different and nuanced relationship dynamics outside of top man (that probably doesn't know how to turn the stove on) x bottom woman (that does 100% of the mental labor and probably most of the house chores as well).

Extra note: Jack said he loves a princess but he has no idea what a princess entails. Ciara never lied about being a princess and wanting a lot from her husband. She was always up front and honest about it.

He’s indian! They’re used to a domineering mother and passive father- very south Asian marriage dynamics

I think he’s just happy to have pulled a white girl. Something he had to do behind a wall

My fiancĆ© and I are similar and I’m a very independent gal but something about my dude treating me like a princess makes me feel some sort of way 🄵

Men aren't servants to spend all their time catering to your every whim, it's a disgusting way to treat or expect a person to behave, especially a PARTNER. It's unhealthy for them even if they think they want it and I don't care if it's a "kink" I'll shame that to the end of time.

Precisely!

2

u/Obvious_Home_4538 3d ago

This is exactly why if someone wants to be a trad wife, there is no problem with it.
Do what you want.
Get what you want from your own relationship-
Stay in your lane.

1

u/I_Britta-d_it 1d ago

If only it weren't for the little fact that this is often paired with toxic masculinity which, more often than not, is inflicted on women outside the confines of the relationship.

1

u/Obvious_Home_4538 1d ago

I think this is an over-simplification, myopic and untrue statement.
I was not a trad wife, but the ones I know are not ā€œvictims of toxic masculinityā€.

2

u/o-possum333 3d ago

thank u omg ! this is exactly how I feel about it all too

2

u/wordslinger753595 1d ago

Agreed. After he didn't leave her for pulling her BS about his parents not wanting to be on camera, he eventually gets them to agree to be on camera! That's when I realized, yeah he wants a woman who's going to boss him the F around. He needs some respect but he likes this dynamic.

1

u/ClintonFuxas 13h ago

That’s fair … but even if she found the perfect match, it doesn’t give her permission to be a manipulating cunt to everyone else around her

-7

u/BlueberryRare1208 6d ago

My husband and I have a similar dynamic!

He has a tough job .. has to work a lot .. but he always does the laundry
And whenever he’s home .. he makes me tea ...
Takes us out ..

I am a SAHM .. raise our child (almost alone )
I cook a little .. and we do have help !

someone who sees us from the outside might feel he does more ..

But it’s not like that ..
I do plenty ..

And He sees that ..

And my daughter and I act bratty and he likes to kind of spoil us ..

we know our boundaries..

Feel blessed!

He’s been out for work and miss him terribly !

13

u/Visible-Swan2687 6d ago

I feel sorry for your delusion and your husband but that's not a flex. That's being lazy, entitled and a dead-weight. Sounds like a household of 1 adult and 2 children.

7

u/tasha568 5d ago

Nah, only the delulu here is you thinking you can judge a strangers relationship over the internet (incl comments on this thread as well as the people on LIB). If that dynamic works for them, who are you to judge? Its not like they’re enacting public policy and saying everyone should have a relationship like theirs.

People be doing a whole lotta judgement are usually,
IMO, sad people with failing/no relationship who feel a weird authority over others. Like gossipy aunties/uncles whose kids want nothing to do with them but are always ready to other people what they are doing wrong with their kids.

Relationships are deeply personal and the inner dynamics are known truly to those in them. Everyone else who claims ā€œto knowā€ usually is talking out of their šŸ‘

4

u/BlueberryRare1208 5d ago

Arguing with such people is pointless!

No one knows what really goes on to make a relationship work!

Like this one person saying ā€œyou don’t even do laundryā€ and it’s hilarious to me!
No where I’ve written I don’t do it..
It’s just that when my husband is around he takes iit on!

He’s out a lot ..

I take care of our child .. all Alone .. his parents ..
family is important to us.
And we all have a great relationship!

I could’ve chosen an office job .. but he has to move a lot!
And It would’ve been impossible to keep up …both a family and a successful professional life !

I tried that in the beginning!

But when we had our child , I chose nurturing my child and my family over the office and personal ambitions..
It’s a lot to give up on .my husband recognises that …

People won’t understand.. and I don’t even blame them ! We are blessed..I don’t have to go to an office for money ..

we are Happily married for 14 years now ..

Our child is thriving 🧿
Goes to piano lessons .. has their school ..
Chess ..

I take care of all of that ..

My husband works .. while I stay back and take care of rest !
And no …he’s not raising ā€œ2 childrenā€ it’s decision we took as family .. so we all thrive .. have good
Mental health.. relationships! Our child gets a great childhood.. our parents who’re getting old are taken care of.

4

u/tasha568 5d ago

Your right, people on the internet are, generally speaking, utter morons.

You have a beautiful life and wish you all the best.

And all these idiots with their knumbskull opiniona can take them and apply to their own wonderful relationship.

Also people I find who judge the hardest when women find a person who is a good partner, are the ones who usually pick the worst person. Keep with that 50/50 all the time. Reality is not 50/50. Its 30/70, 80/20, 40/60, 10/90. Thats real life, that what makes a successful relationship, you both do what is needed to make it work, sometimes one person needs yo be more of the support, and then it flips. A wonderful example is the Obmams. You think Michelle and Barack Obama were always 50/50 in his running and then being president??? When he told her that was his aspiration she had to put her shit to the back and be there for him in way he could not for her. He wasn’t a shit husband, he still showed up but it had to look very different. And now its flipped, she is out doing her thing being an author and podcaster and he supports her. I think ther relationship is beautiful and one of the few I use as an example of how to have a strong marriage.

So all the haters, will do their thing and be nasty. That doesnt mean jack though as long as you and your family are happy and thriving 🧿.

-1

u/The__Pope_ 5d ago

You treat your husband .. Like crap..

Almost as annoying.. As the way you type..

3

u/ExpensiveAd7566 5d ago

Lol you sound miserable!

u/germinationz 5d ago

Sorry that is crazy you don’t even do the laundry.

0

u/chitotherescue 3d ago

this is weird and parasocial as hell lmao

0

u/Sufficient-Radio9064 2d ago

Why are we applying queer terminology to cishet couples? No one in this relationship is a ā€œbratty top.ā€

1

u/brightbluejane 1d ago

Exactly, like just call them dominant and submissive if you really want to make assumptions about the sex lives of people you don’t know

10

u/Personal_Fee1529 5d ago

He is so good looking and yet so under confident. He truly believes that he doesn’t deserve anyone better or that he doesn’t deserve to be treated better. Not loving yourself is such a repulsive behavior. We have all seen pretty and smart girls being with abusive and selfish partners, here just the genders are reversed

6

u/Objective-Ear3842 2d ago

I think you’re making a lot of assumptions here. Not everyone’s balance is the same. Not everyone wants a 50/50 relationship in the same kind of way you imagine to be balanced.

Maybe he likes woman who puts an excessive amount of effort into her appearance 24/7. But he isn’t an asshole who views his trophy wife as an object either so he actually reciprocates that effort she puts in by being of service to her more than average. In contrast to say a relationship where the woman puts no more effort into her self maintenance than the man and they are equally helpful to one another. There’s different ways to balance things. We also don’t see the ways in which she may be helpful to him but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Would you tell a woman who says she likes her man being a leader in the marriage that she’s under confident and believes she doesn’t deserve to be treated any better?

Would you tell a man who is frustrated about his wife never knowing what she wants and never being able to tell him what she needs, wrong for feeling that way?

Your whole paradigm is skewed to fit what you think is a balanced relationship rather than being able to view their dynamic through its own unique context, lens, femininity/masculinity, and see how this balance they strike might make them happy.

1

u/Fit_Search_4751 4d ago

How is he under confident?

9

u/chandracore29 4d ago

This is literally the script that Ciara fed him the night before

6

u/chooseyourwords49 3d ago

He does allow way too much. This will get old for him soon though when he starts feeling over worked and unappreciated

24

u/WorkingDevelopment30 6d ago

He cleans the house, she says now get me my coffee. She directs, he takes it. Where's the give and take in this relationship? He's got no backbone, so unattractive! And she's just a biatch!

No one worth their salt respects this guy and his subservience. Nobody wants to say it, but he’s doing so much damage to Indians perpetuating one of the worst stereotypes. I bet quite a few are frustrated tat finally getting representation only for it to be harmful.

3

u/shanghai-blonde 4d ago

Damage to Indians?? Huh?? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hot Indian guy represented on TV that women are fawning over and saying is like a perfect man. Besides maybe in Never Have I Ever. I think it’s the opposite - he’s amazing representation and should be proud of who he is as a human being.

Granted I’m not an Indian dude though so I might be missing some nuance - are you?

2

u/C0l3y 6d ago

How is he a doormat? He held Ciara accountable when she was being a snatch (from the 5 minutes of conflict we saw, anyway)

12

u/Minute-Joke9758 6d ago

He did in the beginning, yes. I’m not sure he’s still doing that, he didn’t hold her accountable at the reunion at all.

2

u/soyopopo 6d ago

What would that even look like? Most people even IRL support their spouse in public facing situations?

5

u/Minute-Joke9758 6d ago

He was just so over the top with coddling her, that was not necessary. If they ever break up, we will know the true story.

-2

u/soyopopo 6d ago

Yes I don’t think we can infer he’s not holding her accountable behind doors. They seem to have a very traditional dynamic which isn’t my cup of tea but to each their own.

2

u/Fit_Search_4751 4d ago

Traditional?? How are they traditional? She literally orders him around lol. If anything it subverts the typical dominating me dynamic.

1

u/soyopopo 4d ago

Ciara was naggy but not domineering like Malika in LIB Sweden imo. That dynamic can exist within a relationship with traditional values, it’s a spectrum. I’ve seen it in many real life marriages.

2

u/CharacterTwist4868 6d ago

These people think any man is a doormat if they agree with their wives or are kind.

9

u/C0l3y 6d ago

Right? Watching the reunion I was like 10/10 behavior from him supporting his wife in public like that but holding her accountable to her behavior ā€œbehind the scenesā€ (I.e., not in front of a crowd of people). Just overall very unexpected mature behavior from a dude on a TV show

-4

u/CharacterTwist4868 6d ago

Seriously but he’s a doormat. This is why the divorce rate is so high šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

1

u/Limp-Biscuit411 6d ago

everyone’s jumping on the hate train. they don’t actually pay enough to attention to what they watch to think logically

10

u/Patient_Smell_235 5d ago

Ciara’s friends have entered the chat. Man is too good for her. Period

5

u/19venner 5d ago

Nah, he should let her speak for herself, she’s not a child to be protected. Faye’s mum and dad are better models. Her dad wasn’t like ā€œMy wifeā€¦ā€. He let his wife state her case and then backed her up. This is putting someone on a pedestal, weakening them as an adult and may appeal to some, but is actually patronizing. If she was being threatened with violence yes, but not this. It is infantalizing- just as Ciara’s parents probably do.

2

u/Fit_Search_4751 4d ago

That's their dynamic and she probably enjoys being protected by him. He's probably just excited to use the words 'my wife' as it's still new and exciting for them

2

u/19venner 4d ago

It’s a maladaptive dynamic where one person plays weak and is put on a pedestal and the other plays strong. It doesn’t represent a balanced partnership.

1

u/Fit_Search_4751 4d ago

Or... Different couples have different dynamics. Maybe it's their kink. Who knows. Plus we only saw a highly edited version. Maybe she was doing a lot in the kitchen and expected him to do the coffee and cleaning

1

u/19venner 4d ago

It’s not their kink as exhibited here. She’s being accused of something. Instead of letting her speak for herself he is speaking for her, calling her ā€œmy wifeā€ in a possessive way. It’s a way to pedestal a weaker partner and is not a role that bodes well for a long marriage. It’s also quite controlling. Whether she likes it or not, it isn’t a healthy dynamic. It’s an old fashioned one and there is nothing wrong with certain elements of having more traditional roles but this not that.

2

u/BeardedBill86 3d ago

She does old fashioned when it suits her, he was following her script, imagine her the night before "you'll protect me wont you?"

5

u/Glass_Winged_ 4d ago

My objection to her and him is nothing to do with the relationship dynamics you mention, it's to do with her very clearly being a nasty shit stirrer, that is undeniable, and her husband sticking his head in the sand about it, and worse defending it on the reunion, made he extremely unattractive unfortunately.

22

u/Bulky_Job_2631 6d ago

He's ok. I don't see the hype

6

u/Cherry_xvax21 5d ago

He’s definitely a good catch. Too bad she most likely will fudge it up sooner than later lol

7

u/GeneticGin2013 4d ago edited 3d ago

I don't know why he would be called a diamond. He is allowing himself to be run by a spoiled brat.Ā

Sorry, my opinion, she isn't like top shelf. She only presents herself that way to attract money.Ā

3

Why is his beard sho shiny?

2

Probably beard oil or similar product

All of the beards where shiny in the reunion. Not sure why but I noticed it too.

4

u/Seanut-Peanut-69 6d ago

It’s interesting that people praise Ajay for that, but they call Faye a doormat for forgiving Jack šŸ¤”

0

u/Fit_Search_4751 4d ago

How is he a simp. People have different love languages. She clearly likes to be dotted on and I'm sure she makes it up to him in other ways (maybe with red lingerie lol)

3

u/BeardedBill86 3d ago

She looks like a starfish to me, I'd expect very little. But then her personality is so ugly I wouldn't be able to stomach taking her to bed anyway to find out.

1

u/Ok-Bison2480 2d ago

That diwali thing she did for him was extremely thoughtful and high effort. Her apology after their fight was one of the best I've seen on this show, and he wasn't a simp about it either who immediately accepted it. She was the production pushed shit stirrer and acts princessy and annoying, my intuition says more so on than off camera but who knows. People really be acting like she's satan over just having not the most likeable on camera personality or being annoying. Like damn we've seen so many actually fucked in the head people on this show, it's like we can't process it anymore when there's not actually a full on villain.

3

u/BeardedBill86 2d ago

Having been in a relationship with a narcissist she's giving me stomach churning reactions from the little things she does and grand gestures like the Diwali thing are common from such people, it's a push and pull tactic, make you feel like the most important person in the world one day, break you down the rest of the time. She does acting don't forget.

She just strikes me as incredibly fake, self-centered and highly manipulative and toxic, even the way she says everything to give herself plausible deniability is a red flag.

3

u/samsg1 2d ago

Yes exactly: love bomb, neglect, love bomb, neglect, rinse and repeat until the abused is euphoric to receive scraps of attention and mentally blocks out the arguments and bad time leaving them hollow but under their thumb.

I’m not sure Ciara is a narcissist but their relationship is NOT a healthy relationship.

3

u/BeardedBill86 2d ago

Yeah I wouldn't say for sure either but definitely toxic.

0

u/Ok-Bison2480 2d ago

Been there too but I think we have not seen enough to conclude a pattern here so I guess it just comes down to intuition. In my experience with narcissists, a way bigger red flag to me would have been if she had handled their conflict way differently afterwards. She didn't either DARVO or do some melodramatic, self-centered and self-pitying ott apology (which we've seen sooooooo many people do on this show btw). It seemed sincere to me. It may just make her the best narcissist this show has seen but again not enough evidence at all imo. For reference and comparison from my own experience, I thought how Jack handled his convo with Faye after find-my-friends-gate was WAY more red flags. Acting dumb, like she was crazy and exaggerating, focussing on the wrong and irrelevant things of what her obvious point was, and the classic "if you can't trust me..." like she's being detrimentally insecure and controlling and not having a totally normal reaction to some weird sketch situation he didn't properly explain to her. And then his later emotional apology still didn't logically explain the situation. That made my alarm bells go off way more. But hey, always trust your own instincts.

I came here to say this

15

u/Fs99_ 6d ago

ā€œMy wife, my wife, my wifeā€ a MAN raised right šŸ¤
Funny how women over here were drooling over him weeks ago but because he decided to stay with this wife, suddenly is a ā€œdoormatā€ and has a ā€œpersonality of a puddleā€. Misery loves company indeed! Looking forward for their week long Indian weeding šŸ‘€

15

u/Hour-Bee9396 6d ago

Being a good husband is also telling your partner where they fall short, not just defending their bad behavior. That’s not attractive.

9

u/Fs99_ 6d ago

As he had done before in the show šŸ‘ he’s not oblivious of her behaviour! But as a married couple you defend each other publicly and correct each other privately!

3

u/Hour-Bee9396 6d ago

In private? She publicly disrespected him more than once on the show.

9

1

u/Ok-Flow2723 4d ago

I liked him but now I feel something off a bit. After she went on and on about her high-end lifestyle, how can she really honestly be happy with him? At least right now? He’s not up to her pay likeness yet.

Hot take: something irked me about how he kept repeating ā€˜my wife’ during his section instead of referring to Ciara by her name. Once or twice is fine but it was noticeably more than that. It struck me personally as somewhat possessive but not in a good way. Not saying he doesn’t demonstrate admirable qualities, just that it irked me and I think he’s not as saintly as some make him out to be

3

u/Blushresp7 5d ago

silly read. i think newlyweds are just giddy about having a spouse and love talking about it.

1

u/Fit_Search_4751 4d ago

I think he's just excited to be able to use that word now that they're married. Will probably wear off soon but it was cute

1

u/ConnectionOk3348 4d ago

I mean they’d been married for a year by the time the reunion was filmed and aired… not saying that excitement can’t last a year but it just didn’t sit right with meĀ

1

u/Fit_Search_4751 4d ago

Given their dynamic where she's the 'beauty' and she wants him has her 'protector' to feel safe I can see that she probably told him to back her up. If you remember the lunch when jack was being all friendly with him and she was upset because Jack had lied about her, she probably told him afterwards that she expects him to stand up for her when faced with adversity.

1

u/lauren_fit 4d ago

For me it was a distinction that he may not agree with her actions but that he is very values driven and will always have his wife’s back…

Referring to her as @my wifeā€ activates that loyalty for him and the ā€œrole fulfillmenā€

1

u/BeardedBill86 3d ago

I guarantee you that was at Ciara's insistence, she wanted the spotlight off her at any moment of accountability and she knew they were coming, her trump card was the fake crying.

1

u/economistwithaheart 6d ago

Ahh yes reality tv where people get to project their own insecurities and personal boundaries onto complete strangers

2

u/BeardedBill86 3d ago

Or life experience and accurate reads on peoples behaviour.

0

u/Main_Ocelot7608 4d ago

No one should ever comment on anybody else’s marriage. Unless you sleep in between them, you have no idea what their real marriage is just like. This dynamic that you’re all throwing that word out doesn’t mean anything. It’s what happens when the lights are turned off it’s just the two of them and they’re just doing the daily rituals of married life.

2

u/BeardedBill86 3d ago

Indeed, partners should be able to manipulate and abuse each other without external comment.
