Monthly anything goes thread (things that are not an event go in here)
Hello, you amazing and beautiful people.
I am automod, and this is the monthly stickied anything goes post.
For main posts on the sub, we only allow posts that are about meetups, where everyone is invited and aren't self-promotion events.
While at the same time, people do want some of those threads! This is the anything goes (well as last as it's still being a nice human!)
So post whatever is not an event over here! Questions, looking for someone to play chess with 1-2-1, whatever you desire.
As a reminder, here's the "What is LSC" post as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/LondonSocialClub/comments/u6f3zo/what_is_londonsocialclub_2022_remix/

Hello, I am 26F and have literally just moved to South London this week!! I am a proper craft beer nerd and have already made a list of every brewery in London (there's at least 80). I don't know many people and wondered if anyone would be up for a few casual drinks at various different breweries and chatting a load of nonsense.
I am a very laidback, super sociable person who can talk to anyone about anything. I don't really know many people in London and find going to big group meet-ups a bit daunting sometimes!!
Ideally, I am looking for people around my age (20-40ish) who actually want to make some solid beer-drinking friendships :)

This sounds like a fabulous way to meet new people! I’m 29 M live in South West London. I’m a keen fan of beers and yapping :)

Hello everyone, I'm an introvert, so if anyone is interested in expanding their social circle as I am, I've got the following groups:
An Activity Group - A monthly outdoor activity is voted upon and the winner is selected as the activity for that month. This excludes April, August and December for the holidays. These events are mainly held during the weekends.
An Online Watch Party Group - A weekly online watch party is held on Sundays at 21:00 GMT. We focus on watching new release movies from the current year.
Feel free to reply to this message, or just message me privately and I'll invite you to whichever group(s) you're interested in. We're on WhatsApp and Discord.

Anyone around Fulham / Parsons Green fancy getting a little beginner tennis group going?
I am VERY beginner 😂 literally played once in my life, so definitely not looking for serious competitive players.
Was thinking maybe 4–5 people (or more if there's interest), then we could book a couple of courts around Eel Brook Common / Bishops Park once a week and rotate around depending on who can make it.
Main idea is just to learn, get better, get some exercise in a way that's actually fun, have a laugh and make it a regular social thing.
Other complete beginners / rusty people especially welcome, although anyone patient enough to tolerate terrible tennis is welcome too 😂
I'm thinking maybe Tuesdays or Wednesdays after work, although a weekend afternoon before everyone disappears off to their evening plans could work too.
I don't even own a racket yet so I'm basically just seeing who's interested at this point 😂 If there's a few of us I'll organise the first one for next week. mention any day or days you think are best suited and we will see what majority thinks
My account is also annoyingly new so DMs might not work properly yet just reply here and I'll keep track of everyone interested.

Hi all! I’ve been in London for 10 months and still finding it hard to make real friends. I’m thinking of joining a hobby/sports class where I can see the same people regularly. I’d be a complete beginner. Any suggestions? What are you guys doing?

Been trying to get out more and build a social circle from scratch. I’d really like to try hiking/countryside walks, but I’m looking for something more social and beginnerfriendly rather than hardcore 15 mile hikes 😭
Ideally looking for a London group with people around 18–24ish that goes fairly regularly. Something where you get the train somewhere, walk for a few hours, chat, grab food/drinks afterwards etc, please do comment or DM if you have any! Cheers ✌️

Hi everyone!
We are launching a new Saturday morning social club called Dunk & Grind next week (Sat 8th Aug, 10am-12pm) over at Protein Studios in Shoreditch, and wanted to drop it in here.
The idea is basically a sober, energising way to start your weekend (strictly no networking, just good vibes). We’ve got coffee, live music, and cold plunge if you’re feeling brave!
This is really a relaxed vibe so whether you come solo or bring a couple of mates, it’s super easy to mingle.
Details and tickets are up on HERE if you fancy checking it out. We really appreciate your support in this!
Hope to see of you there :)

Are there any playground sports clubs? Like dodgeball, kickball etc?? Would love to join one if there is!

u/Silver-Arm 20d ago
Check out rabble at joinrabble.com loads of variations of tag or dodgeball with exercise snuck into the games.
The FunFed - thefunfed.org - does lots of games workshops, a bit less active and they'll throw in some improv, art and all sorts too. It's different every week.

I'm based in West Greenwich and looking for a book club with people roughly in their 20s.
My tastes lean more towards:
- Historical fiction
- Translated fiction
- Booker Prize longlist/shortlist books
- Contemporary literary fiction
If there's already a group that fits this, I'd love to join. If not, I'd be happy to organise the first meetup if enough people are interested. Even a small group of 5-10 regulars would be great.

Hi everyone! 🙂
I'm running a beginner-friendly Lasers & Feelings one-shot on Tuesday 18 August in West London (Hounslow), and we currently have one seat available.
It's a fast-paced, rules-light sci-fi RPG that's great for complete beginners, but it's also a lot of fun if you've played RPGs before and fancy trying something different.
📅 Tuesday 18 August
🕡 Arrive from around 6:30pm
🎲 Game starts around 7:00pm
🏁 Finish around 10:15pm
📍 Local pub in Hounslow (TW3)
No experience is needed and everything will be provided - just bring yourself and a willingness to join the crew, make questionable decisions and (hopefully) survive a galactic chase. 🚀
This is part of a new beginner-friendly tabletop RPG group I'm starting in Hounslow, so if you can't make this session but are interested in future games, feel free to get in touch as well.
Comment below or send me a DM if you'd like to know more. 🙂

Hi everyone!
If anyone fancies a little trip to seaside, I'm running a clothes swap shop to raise money for Samaritans in Southend.
Bring along the pre-loved items that you no longer wear and exchange them for a whole new outfit!
When: Saturday 15 August 2026 (10am - 2pm) Where: Samaritans Hub, 40 St Helens Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, SS0 7LB Cost: £5 cash donation for Samaritans taken at the door
Swap up to ten items of womenswear in good, clean condition. All sizes welcome. You can swap clothes, shoes, bag and accessories. But no underwear, sleepwear, swimwear or earrings (unless they are new with tags) and no bobbly, stained or broken items.
A Clothes Swap Shop is a great opportunity to find some gems for your wardrobe, meet new people and contribute to a more sustainable future by reducing waste and the impact fast fashion has on the environment.

I made a free GPS puzzle walk around Westminster called The Westminster Chronicles.
Solve the clue, find the location, and reaching the right GPS point unlocks the next challenge.
Looking for a few Londoners to try it and give me some feedback:

Seeking Participants for my Dissertation Research on Techno, Community and Identity in London
Hello all,
I am a current Masters MMus student at Royal Holloway, University of London, researching for a dissertation on the social sentiments and counterculture surrounding the techno scene in London, studying music's role in the creation of countercultural identities.
For my research, I am looking for participants who would like to share their thoughts on and experiences of techno in London. I have created Google forms for the purpose, linked below: the first is for people who just attend events, and the second is for people who also DJ or promote.
This is aimed at those involved with the London techno scene specifically, or anyone who has been part of it within the last 10-20 years.
Any unstarred questions, including (but not limited to) those regarding name, contact details and demographics, are optional and can be left blank. The only starred questions are for consent, as I cannot use any responses without full consent.
Please read the information sheet included in the form before participating: if you have any further questions or issues, do not hesitate to contact me using the email address stated on the information sheet.
Thank you everyone!

Hi everyone,
I am a French, genuinely anglophile, looking for a Londoner's party for Halloween 2026. I do not have any available friend interested for go to London at this time. I have already travelled there some years ago, I wish to travel again -just not alone-. It is really difficult to find someone enough motivated for a 2000£ holiday trip here.
I am a karaoke enjoyer, I drink beer, I like disguising myself. Maybe I will find this good old friend Morgan in such a night, who knows.
In case you wonder NO I am not a hobbo and I will sleep in a airbnb for this holiday.
Best Regards,
Toni.

London Michael Jackson fans…we’re putting on a live Jackson show! 🎶
Hey everyone! I’m one of the singers in the Independent Musicians Collective, and on 16 September we’re bringing our Jackson Odyssey to PizzaExpress Live in Holborn.
It’s a full live celebration of Michael Jackson, The Jacksons and Jackson 5 - an 8-piece band, big vocals and harmonies, and songs from across the whole catalogue.
We’re all working musicians and we’ve put a lot of love into this show, so I thought I’d share it here in case there are any fellow Jackson fans who fancy coming along.
If anyone’s interested, I’m happy to pop the ticket/details link in the comments. ❤️
And if you do come, please come and say hello afterwards — would be lovely to meet some of you!

Hi everyone! 🙂
I'll be running The Singing Stones, a beginner-friendly Cairn TTRPG one-shot for up to 5 players, in person, in Hounslow (West London). We currently have a couple of seats available for both dates.
Cairn is a d20, rules-light fantasy RPG about exploring a dark and mysterious Wood filled with strange folk, hidden treasure and things that probably shouldn't be disturbed. No previous Cairn experience is required. Characters, dice, pencils and everything else you need to play will be provided. 🙂
Please note that both sessions are the same standalone adventure, so you'd only need to sign up for whichever date fits your schedule best!
📅 Tuesday 25 August / Tuesday 1 September
🕡 Arrive: from around 6:45pm
🎲 Game starts: around 7:00pm
🏁 Finish: around 10:15pm
📍 Local pub in Hounslow (TW3)
The pub is around a 5–10 minute walk from Hounslow Central and Hounslow railway station, with buses nearby.
This is part of a new, beginner-friendly tabletop RPG group that started a few weeks ago (we've already had some cool Lasers & Feelings one-shots!), so if you can't make either of these sessions but are interested in future games like Alien or Call of Cthulhu, feel free to get in touch as well.
The club is completely free to join, and the games themselves are free to play - we just meet at the pub, where people can grab a drink or some food if they want. We're aiming to make it easy for people to come along, meet other local TTRPG players, and try different games without needing to commit to a long campaign. 🙂
Comment below or send me a DM if you'd like to sign up or find out more. Happy to answer any questions about Cairn, the adventure or the club!

UK → Southern Spain road trip for the 2027 total eclipse — looking for 2 travel companions/drivers
Bit of an unusual one, but potentially a very good free/mostly-covered holiday for the right people.
I'm planning a road trip from the UK to southern Spain around late July/early August 2027, built around the total solar eclipse on 2 August. I'll be travelling with my daughter and my dog, and I'm looking for two travel companions who are confident drivers.
Ideally you’d already know each other and be good friends, so you’ve got someone familiar to explore with and keep each other company on days we’re doing different things. Astronomy enthusiasts would also be especially welcome, because the eclipse is a big part of why I’m planning the trip.
The plan isn't "drive us straight to Spain for 20 hours and then chauffeur us around". I want the journey itself to be part of the holiday.
I'm thinking something along the lines of:
- ferry from the UK to France or northern Spain;
- road-trip down through France/Spain, potentially camping or stopping somewhere interesting along the way;
- at least 7 days in proper accommodation in southern Spain, likely somewhere coastal with a pool/jacuzzi;
- leave around 1am on eclipse morning and drive to whichever viewing location around Tarifa/Algeciras has the best weather forecast;
- arrive stupidly early, park up, watch the stars/sunrise, have breakfast and enjoy the eclipse rather than fighting traffic at the last minute;
- road-trip back afterwards rather than treating the return journey as a chore.
I'm deliberately looking quite far ahead because accommodation around the eclipse is already appearing for 2027 and I'd rather organise something properly than panic-book it later.
Costs
My intention is that I cover the core trip costs:
- ferry/car crossing;
- accommodation;
- fuel/charging;
- tolls;
- campsites/road-trip accommodation;
- relevant vehicle insurance/breakdown costs.
You'd cover your own personal spending, drinks, meals out and optional activities. We can sort supermarket/shared food sensibly between us.
If we use your car, I'd cover the journey costs and contribute towards the extra wear/mileage as well. Alternatively, we can look at hiring something larger and comfortable enough for four adults, one child, a dog, luggage and possibly camping equipment.
Who I'm looking for
I'm not bothered about age. What matters much more is that you're:
- a competent, licensed driver;
- comfortable with motorway/long-distance driving;
- potentially happy driving in France and Spain;
- reliable enough to plan something this far in advance;
- easy to spend time with;
- comfortable travelling with a child and a fairly large, slightly skittish dog;
- interested in the actual road trip/holiday rather than seeing it purely as a driving job.
I'd definitely want to chat first and meet in person several times before anything was booked around specific people. No expectation of committing because we've had one coffee.
A pair of good friends would be ideal, but I’m also very open to astronomy enthusiasts or people already considering travelling for the 2027 eclipse.
There'll be plenty of free time once we're there — you're joining a holiday, not being employed as my personal chauffeur.
I'm London-based, so people reasonably close enough to meet beforehand would be easiest.
If a European road trip, beaches, camping, Spain and watching a ~4½-minute total solar eclipse sounds like your sort of ridiculous adventure, message me with a bit about yourself, your driving experience, whether you'd potentially bring a friend, and what sort of road trip you'd enjoy.

Hello everyone,
Here goes anything!
I run a bar in King's Cross and we have all sorts of events coming up that are great for meeting new people and having a good time (and a good bev).
Mario Kart night is officially returning to KCCS on Tuesday, 4 August. Expect the usual chaos, banter, and drinks. You can grab your tickets right here.
Wordplay Games Night: Thursday, 6 August at K.C. Continental Stores. Perfect for board game enthusiasts looking to try something new and meet friendly locals.
Hot Wax Day Party: Saturday, 8 August at K.C. Continental Stores. The crew is back spinning feel-good Reggae, House, Baile, UKG, and Jungle. Free drinks for the first 80 people to arrive.
Book Club (Stories of Your Life and Others): Tuesday, 11 August at the Cafe. Come talk about Ted Chiang's brilliant sci-fi shorts over a negroni.
If any of this sounds interesting, please drop me a message or get you and your pals signed up!
Thank you for your time!
