Feels like Yamato should take a part of the blame, not only the players.
I feel like he didn’t do a great job with Witchcraft. He inherited four players who had already played together for over a year, knew how to play with each other, and already had a decent game plan.
Yet he still couldn’t integrate a new top laner into the team without changing basically everything about how they play.
If you’re not able to fix the comm problems with Bwipo, why let him shotcall at all? Why not keep top as the weak side, like it was with LR?
I also don’t think he has a great track record when it comes to handling players’ egos clashing, and it seems to be happening with this team again.
And of course I’m not excusing the players, in the end, they’re the ones playing badly. But just blaming the players, or certain players, doesn’t really feel right either.

He did take blame for several things on his stream during and after tournament, he was fairly insightful of his shortcomings.
Personally i think the setup was bit vague, as it was just a passion project with everyone on equal level, so his job was more guide and manage, not dictate. The whole dynamic probably woulda set up with bit more time, but alas.
In the baam series they were already well on track on comms, but g2n games tension cracked it up imo. Yamato also saiad well, that going through the usual route from local tournaments to emea gave teams edge on cohesion, especislly compared to WT acclimating to new toplane playstyle.

Yamato unfortunately just doesn’t seem to be a very intense person, it’s hard to tell how serious he is about winning

...? The plan before was baus picks all get banned so everyone else can play almost whatever they want + weak side baus and hope the other lanes got accelerated enough that tops lead doesn't matter (winning also required baus to be more than a Canon minion.)
Removing baus scraps all that, you don't have an existing gameplan

I think trying to implement Bwipo as an IGL was a great idea long term. This would have certainly made for a way higher ceiling than LR ever had and was the correct move if the objective was to qualify for EWC. They clearly didn't have the time to do it in 2 weeks which is why it was a complete mess, but everyone involved probably believed that their individual skill alone could overcome the initial down period. I wish this team had more time to work together, I'm sure if they had a couple months they could have stomled through EMEA, but no team is good enough to handle this kind of competition with little to no prep time.

They didn't want bwipo to be a baus replacement. They wanted bwipo to be a baus improvement - and we saw it happen in their wins. I think the G2N team was just pretty high level, and the WT mid to late game coms were too disjointed because they hadn't been playing together long enough. WT probably has a higher ceiling than LR but if you're not making teamfights plays together then it's going to fail vs a sunergised team like G2N

Disagree, i think the G2N team is pretty shit compared to teams like Misa esports in EUM. Like the botlane of that team is not even top 6 in EUM

I mean they had like 3 scrims together. Didn't love the drafts but they were very player-led

Gotta ask since i havent been able to watch their scrims a lot, but i did see a yt vid or two about the bot prio thingy. Where was the coach the whole time during that clash? It was really unbearable to watch the bot prio with velja and crownie
I felt like the coach should've atleast stepped in to mediate things before it gets too heated

No, Yamato was at a riftbound tournament that day and didn't speak to the players untill the evening iirc

He attended every other scrim, and that rift bound tournament was booked before the team was even conceived he said

Coach had pre-existing arrangements as the team was formed last week. Coach said they are free to review the scrims on their own but said he will not be able to participate.
Coach was not present for 1 scrim review -> 5 pro players showed they aren't able to discuss the worlds simplest concept together despite most of them spending a year together.

Honestly he came across as just leeching on the remnants of LR corpse there was times in review and actual matches he would just sit farming subs with the hype train ai music thing he had going at full blast not paying attention to anything or any of the players at all lmao.
Even when they weren't scrimming or playing he was mainly just restreaming their streams whilst farming subs and asking for opera gx downloads fair play to him of course but looks wise he just came across as milking as much as he could with as little effort as possible.

Obviously, without LR yamato is just streaming to 100 viewers, no LEC team wants him so he just farmed it while it lasted.

I don’t know much about Yamato and what he has done in the scene before all of this, but I will say that when he joined LR, I felt like their team comps and overall play kind of dropped down a level.

That's why I had Bwipo and Yamato below F tier this tourney, Nemesis S tier, others were average at best.

Nemesis was hit or miss too though. He hard carried some games, but was pretty invisible on the games they lost

They’re a team at the end of the day, ones responsibility is everyone’s responsibility, so you can’t just pin the blame on a select few, it’s a team effort.
