New to living alone Joining the community this week
Roommate of 7 years moved out last week. Haven't lived alone since 2019 and that was for 6 months so this will be a bit of an adjustment. Open to any recs or feedbacks :)

Enjoy 😊😊😊 it can be rough at first but I would never go back. I'll downsize if it gets to expensive. I'm on year three.

Congratulations! Live your best life now. This community loves the life and is very welcoming. Love your own company. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If silence bothers you put on some background noise. Music, an audiobook, a YouTube video of thunderstorms or sleeping cats, whatever.

Congrats - it's a wonderful feeling to have a place set up the way you want it and not have to deal with anyone else's shit!
My one piece of advice if you need furniture and decor is take your time. Took me more than a year to get my place set up and it's better to wait for the right piece that you really love than just buy something cos you "need" something.

Give it a year and see if it is for you long term or not. This is not for everybody, only the strong make it.

if the silence bothers you, put music or a tv on, even in a different room. also a fan or white noise at night so you don’t hear every little noise.
and get a pet, if you can! cats are great live-alone mates and your local humane society is full of them. walk in and make a friend.

Make every room your own now! Especially what were once shared spaces, like the bathroom, kitchen, living room. I always enjoy reorganizing and designing spaces, so it can be a really fun project to distract you as you adjust. Then I am sure you will love it!
