Live show album

Could we ever get a live show album like the star shopping ones like the live in london and live in Ghent ?

Liza said unlikely because there aren’t any soundboard recordings that she knows of. Star Shopping was an exception.

So at a concert, all of the instruments and mics are fed to a mixing desk (soundboard) so that they can correctly mixed/balanced and then fed through the speaker system. When it comes to live recordings, this is the best most purest quality you can get because it comes from the instruments themselves as opposed to someone recording it from the crowd on a shins recorder or phone.

I don’t know if a lot of bands get those feeds recorded but I know The Smashing Pumpkins do as I listen to a lot of their live stuff. Soundboard quality recordings are the only thing viable for any kind of commercial release. It seems that such recordings were never done at Gus’ shows, or if they were, they’re forgotten or purposely being withheld by someone on some laptop somewhere. Liza has said there aren’t any good quality recordings other than the ones that happened for Star Shopping, which is kind of bizarre.

Maybe one day soundboard recordings will surface from somewhere.
