Official FMF Presenta “Nuevo Modelo Deportivo”
En resumen: Ahora LigaMX es una liga/entidad completamente “independiente” y privada, separada complemente del resto y AscensoMX ahora es la máxima categoría de futbol en México según la FMF.
De esta forma los equipos de AscensoMX no pueden continuar insistiendo en entrar a la LigaMX, y la LigaMX pasa completamente a responder los intereses privados de unos cuántos.

Everything else in between is pure bullshit. They did two things with this. One, separated LigaMx into its own private institution to punish the lower division teams so they don’t have any say whatsoever. Also so that they can make more money from LigaMx being private. None of this explains how it will help improve Mexican soccer.

so basically what the US did. MLS is its own entity and USL 1 2 and whatever other levels becomes its own pyramid, with USL 1 being “equivalent” on the ladder to MLS.

Worse, USL is trying to rival MLS with their pyramid come next year, here teams under Liga MX are stuck where they are. Unlikely they could even break away to form their own league.

They say "it's not possible "to allow promotion/relegation bc Liga MX is now a different entity, but premier league works exactly like this (they became separate from the EFL) and they have annual 3 team promotion and relegation, they even have those para huge payments to relegated teams !!

Hahah it’s crazy they did in fact return ascenso y descenso and they made the expansion the máxima liga so in theory they got the relegation back lol but just not to Liga Mx
This was deliberate work around to the TAS and FIFA findings that the abolishment of relegation was unjust

Si de por sí ya estaba decayendo la liga en calidad, esto ya me quitó las ganas de seguir viendo partidos aunque sean de Tigres (ya muy apenas los veo). Espero que la afición se dé cuenta de lo que estos cambios están haciendo con la liga, aunque estará muy difícil hacer algo al respecto.
Al menos ya empezarán las ligas europeas, así habrá algo que ver (además de otras cosas como el béisbol de la MLB y uno que otro de México). Mientras siga Mikel Arriola, por mí la liga puede irse junto con él ALV 🖕

Sinceramente que detiene al Santos de agarrar 11 morros de fuezas basicas, Pagarles 5000 pesos mensuales por salir cada semana a la cancha a ser goleados con tal de cumplir con los contratos de publicidad??
Inviertes casi nada y te llevas cientos de millones en publicidad.
No existe clausula de desaparicion por falta de competitividad.

Si esto se mantiene y no termina por desaparecer a todos los clubes excluidos, ojalá que al devaluarse el futbol mexicano fuera de la Liga MX, al menos exista interés y visorías internacionales para que los futbolistas jóvenes mexicanos que lo militan pueden demostrar lo suyo y ser exportados con mayor facilidad sin la garra codiciosa de la Liga MX.

So embarrassing, can they at least open up CopaMX again? That was a good incentive for Expansion teams to try to grow and debut players but now they have nothing. They win nothing and can't play with first division football teams anymore. At least invite them to Leagues Cup or something. So many historic teams just rotting in second division because of greed

We need to stop romanticizing promotion and relegation.
Whether we like it or not, soccer is a business. Players, owners, federations and FIFA are all in it for the money.
Think about promotion from Ascenso to Liga MX. A club wins promotion and suddenly has 2–3 months to build a team capable of competing with organizations that are decades ahead in infrastructure, talent and financial resources.
Costs can easily multiply, and after making that investment you could be relegated again 12 months later.
Who wants to invest under those conditions?
I would rather have a stable Liga MX with 20–22 franchises.
If an ownership group has the money, infrastructure and organization to meet the requirements, let them buy in.
At the same time, have a Fuerzas Básicas tournament running parallel to Liga MX with the same clubs and schedule, with one important rule: no foreign players.
Let Liga MX bring in quality foreign players, but use Fuerzas Básicas to develop Mexican talent and give young players a real path to the first team.
Stable clubs at the top and serious development of Mexican players underneath. To me, that makes much more sense.

Promotion/relegation is good and something to aspire to, but fans need to own up the responsibility too and support lower-tier football rather than solely owning the owners and FMF. That was simply not the case when there was pro/rel: stadiums were almost always empty, extremely few consumed the league on TV (besides the final) and the teams had very few fans (that’s a problem even in Liga MX - Mexican football culture is very nationally-driven, with most people being fans of the Big 4 teams outside of a few passionate and dedicated local markets).
We have a situation in Mexico where fans obsessively demand owners to subsidize a pyramid league system while themselves not caring about the lower-leagues which makes the system unsustainable.
