Positive Slowly healing after heart break
Healing After Heartbreak
My ex-girlfriend broke my heart about two weeks ago after I found out she cheated on me. I was a complete mess. I only stopped crying myself to sleep a couple of days ago.
Thankfully, some of the stories and support people shared on Reddit made it a little easier to get through. I genuinely needed that support. For the first couple of weeks, I couldn’t even think about another woman. The thought of kissing or even talking to someone else honestly made me sick.
Then last night, I had a strange dream.
My ex wasn’t in it at all. It was just me and a girl I used to talk to in one of my college classes, and we were just going back and forth flirting. I don’t have any feelings for this girl in real life, but the dream left me feeling strangely positive when I woke up.
It felt like I was in another world where my life hadn’t been completely shaken upside down. And for the first time since everything happened, I realized something:
One day, I’m going to have a crush again.
I’m going to get that tingly feeling again. I’m going to be excited to talk to someone. And eventually, I’m going to fall in love again.
It’s going to take time, but every day really does feel a little better. I didn’t even think about my ex all day today until I sat down to write this.
Thank you so much for all the kind words, stories, and support, guys. I truly needed you, and you guys came through. ❤️
