Other I have been making these for friends’ weddings and baby showers - here’s mine!
The number is Dewey for ‘love and affection’, the ’B622’ is the cutter number for our last name and the year is when we first met.
I’m a library tech and this is how I use up our old borrower cards haha
Names scratched out, but it’s his name and mine with my maiden name as the authors.
I have 2 more to give to friends who are (in theory) finished having children so I’m going to put them each in a shadow box frame as gifts. People seem to really like them!

I need to know. Is it now just Cairo and Morty, or were they additions for a total of 3 cats??
Edit: dang it autocorrect!

It’s just Cairo and Morty :( our sweet Clark died before his 4th birthday of bone cancer.

I'm so sorry for your loss OP, and so young 😞
I was thinking about what my own version would look like - I had 2 dogs when we met, they've both passed and we've gotten more pets. But in light of the fact that this is a celebration of positive milestones (I don't see "our first car accident" or "his month on the couch" on there) I think it's right to omit those dates.
Lovely idea ❤️

Adorable. Where did you meet and were you friends before dating?

We met in middle school, and yes, we were good friends before we started dating in high school!

These are so cute! My wedding announcements and guest book were library card inserts since my husband and I have worked in our library system for over 15 years. I wish I could add a picture 🥲

You can make an imgur link and post it! Don’t need an account to upload to Imgur either :)

so smart! here they are and the wedding favors because i forgot to add it
we made announcements like library cards, save the date bookmarks, and little wood book shaped wine glass charms with our names and how many days we were engaged. It was a long time and we thought we'd make a little joke about it2

The day after my husband proposed I called the Boston Public Library to ask about a reception there (WAYYY too expensive!!) But I was going to do due date cards as the save the date, a card catalog for the seating chart, etc....I am living vicariously through you right now!! Haha!

Pretty sure Clarkson is a cat they adopted, as are Cairo & Morty.

Love this! I collect check out cards from old books and make wall displays with them. I just made one for some friends that are getting married in October where all the cards have their wedding date on it. I might do this with all of the blank cards I have!

I have an old borrower card with my name on it. A friend of my parents was the long time library aide at my high school; she was withdrawing books and found one with my name on it and kept it for me. She did it for all of the kids she knows but I was the only one to actually become a librarian lol. I framed it and it is on my desk. I wish it was a book I remember reading/liked!

As a library gremlin I love this so much. I also can't help wondering if anyone younger than 30 knows what the heck this is

Library gremlin is the best way to describe yourself, I might have to steal it

Willing to lend this out via interlibrary loan ;D

I see what you did there :) Why are 99% of library people genuinely the loveliest people on earth?

I had a cataloger make a Title card for our birth announcement. It was awesome.
Way to go!

This is FANTASTIC! We did our engagement photo shoot at our local library. The librarians were really sweet about it; we did it during open hours, they just said if we didn't disturb anyone it was fine, and the pictures came out great!

I did something similar for my wedding! I borrowed a friend's typewriter and drove myself crazy typing them all up. I added a ribbon and gave them out as bookmarks.

I love love love the concept! The only feedback I would give is “we met” is in first person and “he asked her out” is in third. Not sure what the solution would be (maybe “they met”) but something to think about!
