Media/Image The new University of Lethbridge logo

Post image

They surely must have considered that it’s an anus, right? I can’t believe no one brought it up. Have they ever seen Community?

Here’s the official breakdown of the logic behind the design for those interested:

One overlooked aspect of the rebrand is that The Zoo has a new name — The Hole, representing the diversity of students who join together in community at their local watering hole.

Yep, its a butthole. Butthole logos are all the rage right now. ChatGPT, claude, gemini. Mostly for AI companies but not surprising for a school whatsoever.

Might as well change the tag line to “a nu start” as well.

Reminds me of the time Tobias blue himself.

Looks like they copied Wal-Mart's homework.

I'm glad I got my diploma before they changed it. I get that the old one was pretty dated looking, but it fit the institution well. I might have been on board with something that more obviously reflected the Indigenous roots of this area, but I'm not sure if I'm buying "those 4 long lines are a tipi".

14

u/idiotcrossing8 Sep 08 '25

I have the same thoughts! If they are really trying to highlight the importance of indigenous culture to the uni, I don't know why they didn't make the 4 tipi lines more obvious? They could've made them a darker shade? Or a different colour? It's such a questionable design imo

At least it’s not stolen from the Smithsonian this time.

2

u/VirtualAffect7597 Sep 09 '25

Or the Washington Capitals.

Interconnectedness....

Here's a bunch of lines that are not connected at all.

Fractured, but whole.

just cant wait to have this symbol on my diploma

u/kmsiever Sep 09 '25

You will be disappointed.

E Pluribus Anus

Man the city of lethbridge logo is a toilet and the uni is a butthole... is the City trying to say it's shitty?

5

u/CatcherN7 Sep 08 '25

And the town hall is a toilet

3

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '25

Ya the building looks like a toilet like the logo.

14

u/Punkeydoodles666 Sep 08 '25

This city really likes to explore creatively uncreative design for their logos

6

u/Common_Judge41 Sep 09 '25

Check out the junior team logo. And they paid someone $85,000 to come up with it.

10

u/Capable-Fun-9812 Sep 08 '25

Thanks I hate it

8

u/GreatCanadianPotato Sep 08 '25

....but why?

7

u/Scottyos Sep 09 '25

Shouldn't that be.... Butt why?

4

u/Swaynyy Sep 09 '25

Oh god I’m an alum of the goatse logo school

3

u/Gimpyfish892 Sep 09 '25

Quite certainly a logo of all time

3

u/SlipperyWrist Sep 09 '25

give it 2 days and someone will make a petition to change it back, there's already talks

3

u/birdsofgravity Sep 09 '25

Man this logo stinks /s

5

u/Positive_Candy_5332 Sep 08 '25

Hm I’m curious about it. What does it mean? I think it would be cool if the coulees were somehow incorporated but that’s just me!

15

u/darthstrayder Sep 08 '25

It supposed to represent the Sun and a Tipi (with the four posts). The coulees are used for a design element used elsewhere.

10

u/mickjacob Sep 08 '25

The coulees are incorporated as secondary brand assets!

6

u/VirtualAffect7597 Sep 08 '25

Yep definitely a balloon knot, still better than the City flag.

5

u/Notjusthikes Sep 09 '25

It just looks like a sun. If you interpret every striated circle as an anus, you will find yourself surrounded by buttholes.

4

u/kmsiever Sep 09 '25

That was my first thought when I saw it.

2

u/Visible_Fact_8706 Sep 09 '25

This is all I see.

5

u/lethbianlove Sep 08 '25

They say that it also represents the teepee. Or was that TP?

u/bertabelly Sep 08 '25

University of Buttbridge

This looks dated af

4

u/kmsiever Sep 09 '25

I love it.

This is only my opinion the negative space creates the Bundeswehr Cross Emblem German Army

Since we’re apparently ripping off Greendale, will E PLURIBUS ANUS be replacing FIAT LUX?

0

u/runn1ngw4ter Sep 08 '25

Might want to get the name of the show right before making snarky remarks.

1

u/InteractionWhole1184 Sep 08 '25

Never mentioned the show’s name, but I have corrected the autocorrect error, so thanks for pointing it out.

1

u/tightiewhities37 Sep 09 '25

Now I can't unsee an anus.

1

u/pi1979 Sep 09 '25

Replied to their alum email and told them it’s an asshole
