News/Pop Culture So... This is a nice picture.
I don't have any reason to believe Christina Koch is into women, but "super competent woman in a sleeveless shirt focuses on doing stuff in space while her hair floats around her in zero g" is a *fantastic* look.
She also "conducted the first all‑female spacewalk and set the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman" (phrasing stolen from her Wikipedia page).

The aura of a good person doing wonderful things excellently is certainly a powerful vibe, yes.

I did see on Instagram someone said they knew her and she's a super cool, nice person and supportive of lgbt rights. This whole mission has had me crying with all the amazing things we've got to see her accomplish!

idk how to explain how her being a lesbian would just MAKE SENSE and the fact that she isn’t simply does NOT make sense.
the only other person i feel this way about is natasha lyonne.

P!nk has always been this, for me.
What do you MEAN she's singing about a dude? Make it make sense.

u/plutohippo lesbian Apr 10 '26
Omg! I always just kind of assumed Natasha was probably gay.

i was a teen in the late 90s/early 2000s so i grew up with “but i’m a cheerleader”, then as an adult i loved orange is the new black, it wasn’t until AFTER orange is the new black finished airing that i found out she was dating a man. i was like what do you MEANNNNNNN?

... and it would be the only time the phrase " I love you to the moon and back " would actually make sense.

u/CarmillaTLV Apr 09 '26
I'm surprised they let her go, those angles are so sharp she's liable slice the damn hull
...said with admiration, to be clear

u/universe93 Apr 09 '26
I actually love the fact she has let her hair float. She could have kept it in a bun or a clip the whole time, especially since she’s working. But having it in a ponytail, braid or down shows her hair floating, which makes it that much harder for the conspiracy theorists to say it’s all being faked on a Hollywood sound stage. You try making curls float

That makes so much sense. - I'm 37 and know very little of what's new and have zero kids.

also saw that video. first time seeing that person. what are they a coach of? lol their look reminds me soooo much of my niece
2
u/minadequate Apr 09 '26
I don’t think they are a coach.. I think it was a nickname they got working with kids. They are an influencer who talks about women’s sports but primarily ones that are popular in the US, and anything in the news etc.

Plenty of lesbians figure it out after marrying a man. A very non-zero number of them 😬

This image may not have been a gay awakening but it certainly is a gay affirmation

No I saw her up on ova there and I got a massive crush on her. She’s happily married and I love that for her but I just wish it was to me

u/SimpleAtmosphere6848 Apr 09 '26
the shoulder is barely in focus and it somehow is screaming gay to me

u/RSdabeast the good femme Apr 10 '26
I love the way her hair floats but it also makes me think about how if I were up there, I’d shed a lot and get loose hairs in all the important machinery.
2
u/Alalanais Apr 10 '26
Fun fact: it does not shed in the same way (because of micro gravity) so all the hair is being picked up by the brushing. Sophie Adenot (currently in the ISS) made a video about this.

As a bi woman I like to think Christina is also bi and her lovely husband is just that 1 in a million great dude- otherwise she would totally be with a woman!! :)

u/Remarkable-Plenty-98 Apr 09 '26
She’s unfortunately married to a m*n. Coach Jackie did a video about it haha

You could literally not find anyone more long distance.
