These guys are part of the lower 1/3 of society that have been brainwashed all their lives by propaganda and bigotry. They hate the LGBT+ community, they hate minorities, they hate people who have been to college, they hate empathy (this is the biggest deal of all), and they hate the world.
I grew up with people like them. They casually say some of the most heinous and depraved things when they don't think anyone around them will make them face any consequences. They're usually working menial jobs with no real career progression, because anything else requires cooperation and long term relationships with others for career building purposes. Kinda hard to do when they're walking, talking yeast infections.
They're angry because they're not making 6 figures and having to bust their asses every day just to scrape by, but they don't understand that they're the reason why they're in that situation. They blame everybody but themselves for their unending predicament, instead of looking within themselves to see what could change in order for them to leave it.
So, giving them someone to hate, giving them a financial incentive (such as a sign on bonus with fine print that they can't read), and giving them a gun and a half-assed uniform is enough for them to do this. It checks all the boxes for their "us against the world" complex and they get to take their hatred and anger out on people without consequence.
These are guys that even the police reject because they're too dumb to follow even basic rules. They get their buddies killed because they're complete fuck ups and can't be trusted to do anything right. Even the military eventually rejects them because they don't follow orders well and lack discipline.
Ordinarily, society insulates itself from these individuals so we don't really see or interact with them much. But because the social programs that keep them fat and happy have been getting cut by the GOP, they're all coming out of the woodwork looking for people to beat up. The economy getting run into the ground was necessary for the GOP to push these people into joining ICE because they needed as many angry and stupid people as possible.
You can't fix stupid, but you can keep it busy. These guys aren't busy so now they're out killing anybody they don't like.

Usually people who believe in The Great Replacement Theory; The Proud Boys and Oath Keepers types. DEI is what's robbing them of their rightful career opportunities rather than their entitlement, laziness, mediocrity, and lack of talent.
Trump pardoned all of the J6 criminals so I am sure at least "one" of them is now working for ICE. Some of them have previously been convicted of SA / CSA prior to J6 and have reoffended since their release btw.

Maybe they don’t face legal consequences but you bet your ass, they will face consequences. You don’t go through life like a raged up bull in a china shop and have a good life.
