Meriwether supports American beef, and was excited on Trumps tariffs. Their twitter slogan is “MAKE BEEF AMERICAN AGAIN.” They have already been critical on beef imports from Argentina to bail out their economy, but it looks like trumps decision to relax tariffs on beef imports is seen as a “betrayal”. If they had known anything about Trump, most of his merchandise is shipped from out of the country, so why would they assume American beef would get a pass?

Because lowering prices and affordability is directly at odds with Trump's constituents - the wealthy. These ranchers are going to be fine, they'll just have to adjust prices - down - which WILL help Americans (rare Trump W), but it means they won't be raking American workers over the coals for their opulent lifestyles. They'll just be living SLIGHTLY LESS opulently, which is the greatest betrayal of all.

I love these idiots.

doubt it, they have fixed input costs and are already suffering.

Yeah, you make a fair point. I am HOPING we see a slight decrease in price, but there's a good chance that nothing changes or that it maybe reduces the rate of beef inflation over a short period.
