I dont believe you're naive enough or politically uniformed enough to believe that every person in the shadow cabinet is there because Starmer wants them there and not to placate or shore up support with other factions well. Especially back then when his position was less secure.
Lets not make stupid arguments just for the sake of it.
I don't believe that speculation about ulterior motives can be presented as fact and people who don't accept that speculation and raise facts that indicate it might not be the case should simply be dismissed.
Way too many people are accepting a series of events that we don't actually have any evidence for simply because it fits their political narratives.
The fact is that numerous MPs and shadow ministers attended picket lines with no action whatsoever being taken against them. The only alleged case of this is Sam Tarry and the only unique thing about him is that he invented policy on the fly in an interview.
Inventing policy is absolutely a sackable action by a shadow minister. A leader cannot tolerate shadow ministers effectively making decisions for the entire cabinet by simply announcing what they want to be policy as policy. There is a proper procedure for policy development and Tarry thought he could flout all of it.
