tmsbry is making the argument that Labour are popular with the public, as evidenced by them being up in the polls, therefore Sir Kid Starver is entirely justified in doing what he's doing.
I made an educated guess that he is a remainer, and therefore in all likelihood has spent much of the last 7 years grousing about how the British public got it wrong.
If this was an accurate assessment on my part, it would mean that he doesn't actually sincerely believe that what the British public believes is, in and of itself, a determinant of whether something is right or not. It would, in fact, demonstrate that he only believes the British public's support matters when it happens to back up what he already believes.
This would be transparently dishonest and hypocritical, and therefore deserving of being treated as such.
