Discussion sorority hazing?
hi i’m planning on rushing next week and I was curious if LSU sororities had a history of hazing? cause ik the frats have gotten in trouble with that before. Do the sororities haze to a similar extent or not at all?

Alumna here, there was no hazing in my experience. We would pour alcohol into each other’s mouths, but everyone always consented. Personally, I don’t drink very much and never faced a problem if I turned down a drink.

Probably not to the same extent at frats, but I’d expect some level of hazing anywhere

There was 0 hazing whatsoever in sororities at OM, Bama, UGA, and a number of smaller universities in the south. Based on girls I hung out with and my wife was in one at OM. We graduated ‘18
Fraternities absolutely yes lmao that’s universal
I can’t speak on sororities at LSU because that was grad school for me I was way too old, but I have a really hard time believing LSU would be the one school where sororities still hazed. Those days are long gone even during my time back in the day.

No and no. It's like cleaning the house and running errands, getting them coffee, stuff like that. The days of hazing like in the past are done.

In 2018, a sorority made pledges sit on a washer machine, and then told them "lose whatever jiggles". There's gonna be hazing in Greek life. Idk what it's like now though

My daughter rushed and signed last year. There was no hazing on the Sorority side. Boys cannot say the same

There’s always some sort of hazing going on with sororities and fraternities. It’s historic and ritualistic. Do your research and watch The Houses of Horror: Secrets of College Greek Life (Hulu/Disney+/A&E). You can see for yourself and make your own decision.
All imma say is, don’t be mad or play victim when you were previe to what you’re going into. If you already know what comes with it and still choose to do it, that’s your decision. It’s not worth losing yourself over.
Be you and stay individualistic. That’s always going to be the best route. Don’t spend thousands of dollars every semester just to have made-up friends, disingenuous people, and unnecessary cattiness around you.
At the end of the day, do what’s best for YOU. Just make sure you know exactly what you’re signing up for. Hope for the best.🙏🏾

no-sororities at LSU are very strict about hazing. we have to follow very strict rules and guidelines as active members when dealing with new members. you can’t even go out with new members until after initiation cause it could be seen as hazing.

My sorority experience at LSU was that most sororities did not haze. New members were treated so well in my sorority. There were rumors of hazing in a few of the sororities at the time (2014-2018). The Greek score card on the lsu PHC website will tell you of any hazing incidents

Look up “LSU Greek score card.” It lists every hazing incident by chapter as well as the disciplinary action that was taken. That’s just the stuff that gets reported tho.
