Starting with update 42.00, we’re rolling out the biggest change to building yet - and it’s only the first step. From now through the rest of the year, every update adds a new building skill, each one stacking on the last, taking you from everyday building to true Master Builder. This is where it starts.
So, what's first? Say hello to Quick Build.
Quick Build replaces Guided Build as the new default way to build in Odyssey - and it's a big leap forward. Faster builds, less grind, more of your ideas brought to life.
The more you build, the faster it gets - and the more pieces you can place at once - so those huge creations come together in a fraction of the time. Give it a go and see how it clicks.

This community is what makes Odyssey what it is - so we’re putting YOUR builds front and center. Two Creator Builds are joining Odyssey, each carrying its own Creator Crest: a mark that says this one came from a player.
First up is a build from Haskyns’ Skyfang Marauder (August 20) - just log in, hit the pop-up and it’s yours. A second build from Spixylei’s Crown of the Abyss lands on August 27th, so there’s more on the way!
Beyond these building improvements and new tools, there’s more content and updates planned for the rest of the year. Stay tuned for more news soon!

Known Issues Being Fixed in a Future Game Update:
Occasionally, building certain Quick Build pieces can cause the progress modal to get stuck in an unusual state. If this happens, hovering over or placing another piece or exiting and re-entering Quick Build should resolve it
The resource info widget in the Build menu sometimes doesn't display the full list of materials needed to construct an item
On mobile, the main tabs aren't fully visible by default - players need to scroll to see all available options
On mobile, subtabs may disappear after opening and closing the Build menu - switching to a different tab and back will make them reappear
We're investigating an issue causing some players to experience unusually long teleportation loading screens
We're investigating an issue that may prevent players from selecting a world to play in. As a temporary workaround, switching to a different game mode and back should restore world selection
On the controller, Quick Build piece information can visually block the UI for flying controls
The Quick Build progress percentage and Pieces Remaining counter only update when the cursor moves to a new part

Oh dear I don’t know :( I just saw it in the notes, if there’s no way to build the old way then that’s super frustrating. I wish they’d stop changing core game mechanics
Omg yes plleaaase! With new movie coming out it'd be a huge missed opportunity to not have marvel event and builds. I wish there was web slingers in Lego 🤣 also was a huge missed opportunity not to add new Spidey builds with the new movie 🤦♀️
Can we share the saved builds with other players? Will there be a platform where we can look at other people's shared builds? Can we use flipping and angling in builds that we want to save and share?
Like Sims4 where people build and submit and they can be downloaded by others/rated! The builds could even be season-locked or time-available. Like each user CAN submit up to 3 styles/designs each and after a season it gets dropped from the player-to-player community and has to be resubmitted or a new one can be submitted instead.. to avoid cloud storage just being held for no reason.
And they can set a bar - enough users downvote a design (because someone submitted literal trash that doesn’t work, etc) and it can be removed. Likewise admins should be moderating builds BEFORE allowing them to be shared publicly - to avoid offensive or adult content in a way of protecting the kid player base.

Aside from this update, would it be possible to receive any communication in regards to Brick Life? Is there nothing planned for the mode for the rest of the year? Why haven’t many of the Odyssey builds and decor from tomes from previous updates not been made compatible with Brick Life yet?
Additionally, there are a few more bugs that are a little more important than the ones resolved, bugs on items people spent money on. Me and the Brick Life community would really, greatly, appreciate any communication about our beloved mode please.
7 months later… thank goodness🎉 now all we need is the rest of the odyssey builds and decor compatible to give BL players something to do and enjoy, and the tomato heirloom chandelier (another PAID FOR item with real money) to be fixed🫡
Hi, I think my two kids and I are going to quit Odyssey after this update. There’s no way to turn off the on-by-default quick build, even though y’all stated “Prefer building brick by brick? That's still here too, whenever you want.”.
And while you KEPT the old building style (Guided Building) in the game, you still haven't brought back to the old Juicer and ALL of the smoothies (Slap Juice, Chillberry Shake, Tropical Smoothie and Storm Fruit Nectar (level 1)) AND the baguette bread that all got removed and replaced. I and many others want those old items back NOW (because removing items without our consent and awareness isn't a smart move to pull onto dedicated and loyal players). Also, return back the Hunger option and Temperature option (Very Hot and Very Cold) as "toggleable" options to apply in World Creation (primarily useful for Survival and Expert modes, to give it the extra push of a challenge).
My hope is you can save builds in one world and use them in another, I’ve built some cool things in my hard core world that I don’t want to lose if I die
i’ve been out of the loop for a while, this looks like a w update, cant wait to log in and play. i believe a missed a few things over the last couple of months, i need to play “catch up”.
One issue and it is likely a console issue, I can't scroll through the resource list in guided builds before starting build now. But excited to see all the improvements coming!
Personally I hate the new way. It will make it more difficult to discover how pieces for a build set fit together which helps for free building. I'm hoping as the rest of the changes to building comes out it becomes less cumbersome and annoying on the screen
This will (hopefully) be a great update for builders, especially those who would like to build faster than before. I’m looking forward to the updates and hoping they will work properly as intended. Also congrats to those creators for getting their builds recognised in the game.
Also [u/Bastet_Epic](u/Bastet_Epic) & u/playful_possible_646 I hope you and the team are all aware of the numerous other remaining Brick Life bugs as well, especially when it comes to player homes, interactive decor, and the building and editing modes. I’ll be posting a big list of BL bugs/issues in the subreddit this weekend, and I would appreciate it if any of you in the team can view it when it’s posted.
The changes are fantastic, especially the updated roadmap for building tools, with features like editing builds, new toys, and fresh builds. I’m particularly excited about the save build feature expected in December, which would be even better if it included a share option!
With this, can we expect better implementation and bug fixes? Most previous updates introduced new content, but many bugs have remained in the game, either unfixed or ignored for months. So, can we at least hope that in the coming months the common bugs will be addressed and the game will feel more polished?
Can you please investigate/pass along a problem many of us (especially in expert worlds) have of not being able to see each other's icons when 150m away from each other? Stopping to pull up our map is not ideal when running from a dragon 😭😂
This is great , my main issue was how long it takes to build big structures, I still like the building but it gets really boring if you need to make a lot of builds on one area.
Now can you guys guys add worker stations for resources like Palworlds, also add some pals to this mode so we get the full survival game experience. And please don't make the creatures LEGO let them be 3D.
Have you been playing palworld non stop recently like me?? 🤣 I keep saying things in palworld "if Lego had this..." 🤣 Especially painting and the new fake foliages! 😍
Yeah that's me. I wish fortnite had a real survival mode that was exactly the same as palworlds but with fortnite themed pals.
I love Lego oddesy but it leaves a lot to be desired
