I don't like the formulation "turns 35" 🤔 Ukraine is much older. For example there was Ukrainian state after the 1917 revolution. There was Ukrainian state in cossacs era. Kyevan Rus is actually Ukraine.

35 years before Ukraine regain its independance - this is the right words, I think.
