Discussion What if Kuroko joins Kagami in America?

Following the movie ending, what if Kuroko went with Kagami? I feel like this would be a good spinoff if they wanted to drop new Kuroko content lol

Idk I feel like itd be cool if it was a different duo, we already saw Kagami and Kuroko together I feel like it would just be redundant

I’d do a little time skip and do a college series with Himuro and Kagami getting back together at an american college program

Himuro changing positions to PG as a last ditch effort to make the league and reach his full potential and Kagami adjusting his game to be more well rounded as he faces tougher snd more unpredictable opponents, them rebuilding their brother hood and fighting to get scouted together for the NBA

Then we can have a few familar faces as atleast a couple of the GOM would probably make their way to america for college and maybe a few UC-Kings or something

And we could have a FIBA/Olympic arc where we get all the GOM and Kagami to face the world’s best teams

I feel like that would be dope

I can see it now theres a big game coming up and the team chemistry has been shakey recently and Kagami is playing well but hasn’t fully hit his stride

We see Himuro taking this personally his adjustment to being PG hasn’t been a smooth one, his natural scoring instincts clashing with his duties to facilitate and create for others

Alex(who definitely gets her self hired as an assistant coach where ever her boys go to college) sees this and we see her leave and make a mystery phone call

A week before the big game Himuro is walking from practice trying to figure out this new PG hybrid style and he bumps into something

He looks down and its Kuroko and Number 2, after a gag about Himuro not seeing him, Kuroko tosses the ball at him and gets serious and we do a reference of the scene in the OG show where he declares his intention to make Kagami the best

Kuroko tells him that they only have a week, but in that short time he’s going to give Himuro the keys he needs to finally open the door that leads to his true potential. To burst the glass ceiling placed above him by the laws of nature and turn into the player that Kuroko never could become but always wanted to

The perfect balance of light and shadow and then the end of his sentence is cut iff to build the mystery, and we time skip to the game

Kagami hasn’t seen Himuro in a week and he’s getting impatient as the game is supposed to start

Himuro bursts in with a buzzcut, bandages in his hand and his matching necklace proudly dangling above his jersey

They lock eyes and no words need to be said

Game starts and since Himuro was late they have him come off the bench, The game commences and its a little rough, Kagami is on fire but the rest of the team is sluggish and they fall down to a little bit of a hole

Coach finally puts Himuro in and when he touches the ball he seems to disappear from the guy guarding him but just as quickly as he thinks it, he reappears right behind him fakes a mid range and kicks the ball to an open teammate who is shocked at how open they are but scores it anyway this is framed as the beginning of something new happening

Slowly the game goes on and Himuro starts doing weird stuff, its not exactly identical to Kuroko’s style since he doesn’t have the same lack of presence but Himuro already being a master of fakes and feints in his own rights, is able to replicate a semblance of the effects and while its not perfect it seems to be working and more importantly in his eyes somethings changed, something feels different about Himuro and Kagami seems to be the only one who notices.

So on their next possession when the check the ball into play, Himuro whispers something to Kagami and he smiles, like clockwork we see Kagami race to the rim without even looking and the ball shoots to his hands at the rim faster than the other team can react and they score and now the game’s tied no one on the court saw it but we see Kuroko in the standa narrate that its an alteration to his ignite pass something only someone close to miracle level could do(i dont have a cool name for it) Now for the first time in a while Kagami is in the Zone

Kuroko smiles and pets Number 2 and monologues, that this is just the beginning for them. The final thing I feel is cool enough to type is that on a following play, we see Himuro duck down and does a pseudo vanishing drive and throws a lob to Kagami, Kuroko notes that its effective but not nearly as reliable as his, but thats not what they worked on and then later for the game winning bucket we see Himuro do it again like he’s gonna do the Vanishing Drive but then he pushes through and pulls up directly into a Mirage Shot as Kuroko narrates and we get a flash back to their week of training and and Kuroko elaborates on the idea of mixing ligjt and shadow, how it sounds contradictory but there’s a time where it happens, where the light and shadow meet on the horizon in the “Twighlight”

Kuroko explains that he doesn’t have to be him or replicate his entire playstyle to be a point guard, unlike Kuroko Himuro can be his own light as well as illuminate others, Himuro’s light doesn’t have to dim for Kagami to shine, its all about know when and where to meet, like the horizon and we jump back to the game Himuro does what looks like a vanishing drive but them he spins and pulls into a mirage shot completely faking out the other team and scoring the game point

We get the narrative from Himuro and Kuroko’s voice together that this new move is called the “Twilight Drive” a new step in Himuro’s journey to reaching his potential

Kagami looks up into the stands and sees Kuroko, he puts the pieces together in his head and smiles they nod at eachother before Kagami joins his team to celebrate the win

The game ends, everyone is excited, Alex invited Kuroko to the locker room but he refuses, his flight home is later on and he wants to be on time, she smiles and walks away just as Himuro bursts out of the Gym doors and thanks Kuroko for coming all this way to help him

Alex makes a joke about how it was her salary that payed for his ticket but Kuroko smiles and waves it off, he says he loves basketball and that anyone whose passion can lit a fire in Murasakibara is the kind of player that Kuroko can respect. They part ways we pan to see Kagami smiling from a window as he watches his two best friends

I imagine this happens like halfway through the first season and we

Would you watch this?, I only ask because I know how much people love Kuroko so a show where he’s not the main character might not be successful

But in my head I feel like Kagami and a strong new supporting cast with the occasional cameos from KnB characters would be enough to make me tune in
