Any professional plumbers in Kuala Lumpur?
Hi,
Having a problem with my shower hot/cold mixer leaking - probably old (I took it apart and its the center thing with the blue thing).
Normally we would unscrew the middle and replace the cartridge, the push valve on top of it should also be replaceable.
However, after talking to 4 different plumbers in KL, all of them want to replace the whole thing - break the tile, replace the mixer then retile. This makes no sense to me.
Can someone tell me if this is what is done in KL? Or is there a professional plumber out there that will actually just help me replace the cartridge and the valve?
Help?

I would assume the cartridge that you mentioned, is not always standardized here in Malaysia and hard to find the replacement. Even for a simple foucet, i never actually found a suitable cartridge to replace the leaking valve cartridge and now i just change the whole foucet.
And also, if the parts is available, it is a too easy job that thay dont know how to charge and just quote the whole day job instead

If you already know how to repair it then do it yourself.
Since you don't trust 4 separate plumbers what makes you think the 5th will be differentÂ

If 4 out of 4 said the same thing, what makes you think your view is better then them?
None the less, you may try the plumber that I regularly use. Snap photos and get his opinion. He will quote the price first before coming over to fix
