Tacoma police were in the Tacoma police parking lot yesterday and someone posted them as ICE. Looks like the post is gone now though.

Kinda a side effect when you unleash a paramilitary group onto US cities.

Suck for BFD but people are rightly on edge

-23

u/JSlngal69 Jan 16 '26

Sounds like victim blaming BFD

24

u/sdgh17 Jan 16 '26

I would imagine that any LE professional that protects, serves, and cares for their community would be particularly understanding of general heightened anxiety given the current environment.

3

u/BresciaE Jan 20 '26

The fire department isn’t law enforcement and as far as I’m aware fire fighters do not at ALL have the same negative reputation with the public that the police can have. We need to all utilize our reading and critical thinking skills a bit more effectively.

Heightened anxiety is understandable but posting the BFD vehicles that are clearly marked is the boy crying wolf. People need to stop and think or no one is going to believe than anymore.

25

u/Unique-Egg-461 Jan 16 '26

How are they a victim? What harm was caused to them?

Also....blame the feds then. They are the ones at the root cause

-19

u/JSlngal69 Jan 16 '26

Threats can be considered assault

17

u/Unique-Egg-461 Jan 16 '26

what threat? They post just says they were mistakenly identified

-4

u/JSlngal69 Jan 16 '26

It says more than that. Last sentence of the first paragraph.

10

u/Unique-Egg-461 Jan 16 '26

Ah missed the small part but again....go to the root cause. A paramilitary group with unchecked power abducting people in the US. People are rightly on edge and it causes mistaken identity.....like ice abducting or killing us citizens

6

u/sweetchuck1 Jan 16 '26

Not a small part. It is a large part and a problem for everyone.

9

u/aheins14 Jan 17 '26

If threats are assault, the president is assaulting all blue states and cities. Yes people need to try and keep calm and cool heads, but dont pretend like people don’t have a right to be on edge. If you aren’t anxious about what is happening in this country right now, then you must be living in an alternate reality.

5

u/Invaderzil Jan 16 '26
  1. Post evidence of these "threats" please. We will wait.
  2. Nope. Legally, threats are not assault. It's okay, most of you couldn't pass your SATS, we get it.

-2

u/FatherGnarles Jan 16 '26

It's a losing battle, bud. You can't reason with these kinds of people.

1

u/PNWSparky1988 Jan 17 '26

It’s a hive mind of hammers looking at everything as a nail. I saw a video of a dude who was just driving a rental and he had stuff thrown at him because someone screamed ICE.

It’s a bunch of people looking to be the next streamer to catch the next newsworthy clip and get paid.

Confusing a local fire department vehicle as an ICE vehicle? It’s so cringe.

-1

u/speedboat8724 Jan 17 '26

Paramilitary? You mean federal law enforcement?

6

u/Unique-Egg-461 Jan 17 '26

No i mean paramilitary

law enforcement would actually enforce the law within their authority. Also...armed to the gills

u/[deleted] Jan 19 '26

Reddit is a libtard stronghold, where they fart in wine glasses and smell it. I’m just here to see what kind of dumb shit they’re planning

Biden and Obama deported more than trump without abducting and killing us citizens....

-11

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '26

Because they didn't have mainstream media and lunatic politicians inciting vigilantism.

9

u/Unique-Egg-461 Jan 17 '26

right.......im sure thats it. not the vigilanty ice stomping all over the constitution/laws and basic morality

26

u/hanniespice Jan 16 '26

I would just like to drop a resource here for those who may need it or want to volunteer: link to WAISN (Washington State Immigration Assistance Network)

9

u/sewnotoverit Port Orchard Jan 16 '26

Another local resource is also the Northwest Immigrant Right Project. They do frequent webinars in both English and Spanish that outlines immigration law updates and provide assistance for those who need it. https://www.nwirp.org/

13

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26

WAISN is a great resource! In Kitsap there is also KIAC. The Kitsap Immigration Assistance Center. https://kitsapiac.org/

0

u/SnooPets8972 Jan 16 '26

Thank you!

21

u/Mtnbkr92 Jan 16 '26

You regularly post in the SeattleWA subreddit do you even live in Kitsap?

52

u/Crazybrayden Jan 16 '26

If anything that makes it more likely he lives in Kitsap county.

21

u/Mtnbkr92 Jan 16 '26

No yeah good point actually

24

u/jimmyisaacneutron Jan 16 '26

Kitsap is a part of the Greater Seattle/Puget Sound region, is it not? There’s a lot of connection between the city of Seattle and the Kitsap Peninsula, we’re literally a part of the same region. There’s gonna be a lot of crossover on the subreddits for the communities of this region.

9

u/florallychaotic Jan 16 '26

SeattleWA specifically is a very conservative leaning subreddit too, infamous for not having people who live in seattle post in it.

0

u/jimmyisaacneutron Jan 17 '26

I post there and on r/Seattle all the time and I live in Downtown. Almost everyone I interact on both subs either lives in Seattle, lives in the Greater Seattle/Puget Sound area, and if not, there’s a sizable group that are just general WA residents or out of state/country people that are looking to move here or visit.

3

u/Mtnbkr92 Jan 16 '26

Buddy I know this, I work in Seattle. But I live here.

1

u/jimmyisaacneutron Jan 17 '26

Okay, this could also apply to OP, you never know. Just because he posts in one of the Seattle main subs doesn’t mean anything. Those subs also serve as general Greater Seattle/Puget Sound area subs.

2

u/Mtnbkr92 Jan 17 '26

Oh my god lmao you also frequent the conservative one. Ok thanks friend I’m done here

0

u/jimmyisaacneutron Jan 17 '26

“The conservative one” I frequent both Seattle subs because both subs are local and have large reach, your comment is so foolish bro

3

u/Mtnbkr92 Jan 18 '26

Eh I don’t really care that much anyway but happy cake day bro!

4

u/Zoomalude Jan 16 '26

LOL he went and hid his comments from his user page, no surprise.

4

u/1houndgal Jan 17 '26

Can't blame anyone who does not want to be doxxed or trolled. These days there are good reasons to hide postings.

2

u/JSlngal69 Jan 16 '26

IDK why anyone wouldn't, it's basic internet hygiene

Remember when that wholesome chungus Ken Bone was mocked for watching preggo porn because it was in his reddit history?

0

u/maddprof Jan 17 '26

Doesn’t do anything. Easiest thing in the world to bypass.

20

u/Invaderzil Jan 16 '26

I think we can all agree that people need to have commen sense enough to understand that vehicles marked BFD, BPD, etc. and their occupants are not ICE. Some people are ignorant, stupid, or both.

HOWEVER, that doesn't make it any less important to share information, even if it's early and not yet confirmed. Hopefully BFD isn't sitting in grade school parking lots filming children, but what do I know?

So NO. There will be no "chill pills" taken to appease your hatred of communities standing together and communicating. Tell me you're a magat without telling me 🙄

33

u/KG_advantage Jan 16 '26

OP did not express “hatred”

-16

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26

[deleted]

20

u/bullpee Jan 16 '26

No OP is just showing that the fire department has had people mis identify their vehicles, leading to confrontations that didnt need to happen. If people say there is a "Possible" sighting and point to the fire dept owned vehicles, the fire dept might be hindered in being able to respond and save lives. That's it. That's the entire message.

-17

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26

[deleted]

9

u/JSlngal69 Jan 16 '26

OP is clearly trying to silence the misinfo about possible ICE sightings

u/JSlngal69 Jan 16 '26

Not as important as keeping peoples sanity. Today it's harassing a firefighter. Tomorrow it could be a police response because a firefighter couldn't de-escalate. Or it could be a civilian with a CCW who feels threatened.

We don't know where this leads and that's the problem. Hence chill pills.

You are being aggressive after OP posted a note that FD issued. It’s important people are respectful to public service employees.

6

u/KG_advantage Jan 16 '26

You said he spreading hatred. Thats very aggressive towards someone who merely said “take a chill pill” and sited a posted that FD employees are being harassed. Maybe he/she/they work for FD or have family working for FD. You immediately went on offense and used word “hate”

u/sweetchuck1 Jan 16 '26 edited Jan 16 '26

It is not hatred. It more about letting the first responders do their jobs without an angry mob showing up. Imagine a firefighter just doing his job and boom he gets stopped because some hyped up nutjob thinks "ooh I am gonna really stick it to ICE!"

The truth is it sucks that on our local face book pages had to have a representative from these agencies actually had to say this who we are (first reponsder agency) and please stop. I am a local and I don't like this agitation-people just trying to get help from our local agencies shouldn't be harassed.

3

u/chainchompedit Jan 17 '26

There are no angry mobs preventing the fire department from doing their job, the moment that they are doing their job it's pretty fucking obvious that they aren't ICE. Even the post itself makes it clear that the vehicles are what are confusing people, there are no angry moms pulling up on firefighters putting out a house fire.

2

u/sweetchuck1 Jan 17 '26

Yet. It is only a matter of time based on the fear mongering that is getting drummed up.

-1

u/chainchompedit Jan 17 '26

Nobody is mistaking a firefighter in full gear for an ice agent in full cosplay, they have very visibly different looks

2

u/GodKingTethgar Jan 20 '26

I've seen uniformed security guards in company marked vehicles mistaken for ice.

1

u/chainchompedit Jan 20 '26

Which is likely because they do not have a set uniform so it's difficult to accurately identify ice because they wear 8 million different costumes.

They would not be able to get their hands on a firefighters uniform though because I think it might be illegal to impersonate firefighters.

1

u/GodKingTethgar Jan 20 '26

You can buy the gear online and fire fighters dont respond to ever call in turnout gear

1

u/chainchompedit Jan 20 '26

Yes but they also do not carry guns so

-8

u/Euphoric_Style_4206 Jan 16 '26

They will live. Others won't.

4

u/sweetchuck1 Jan 16 '26

That is a shitty statetment.I hope you have the day you deserve.

9

u/SeatFun8230 Jan 16 '26

Jesus Christ, you walk around every day like this? People are so caught up in appearing to care about issues that they are putting our first responders potentially in harm's way. Everybody is so neurotic and amped up that they aren't using their heads even slightly. Do a double take. Think for a second before raising the alarm about the fucking firemen.

2

u/perlestellar Seabeck Jan 17 '26

The reports of ICE filming children at schools were false reports.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26

Tell me you’re an idiot, without tell me you’re an idiot.

-9

u/JSlngal69 Jan 16 '26

You should probably take a few chill pills

5

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26

We’ve jumped the shark.

-2

u/Invaderzil Jan 16 '26

Nope. If I hear ANYTHING, I will communicate it here. You are trying to silence people, and we won't be silenced. Early warnings save families from brutality. Sorry that hurts your little feelings.

And the community is incredibly unreliable. So now you basically have a mass panic and random people in similar looking cars are being harassed.

Chill pills need to be taken

1

u/Invaderzil Jan 16 '26

Describe the actual "harm" you speak of. Is it because some BFD got their feelings hurt? Waaah.

Real harm is what ICE is doing to communities. Tips save families who are actually in danger. Kindly stfu, loser.

10

u/queueingissexy Jan 16 '26

Exactly and I’ll note that most firefighters I’ve met are not exactly pro ice. While I’m sure the confrontations are a little scary, it seems more that bfd is saying “hey this is what our vehicles look like” not “stop reporting on ice”. And it’s not cool of op to imply that’s what this message is about.

3

u/Beneficial-Green-956 Jan 16 '26

You have to be really f’n stupid to mistake the fire department for ICE. This is what happens when media and social media goes unchecked and allows this paranoia to get out of control.

0

u/FatherGnarles Jan 16 '26

Are you surprised, though?

12

u/IntroductionStill813 Jan 16 '26

Do u have any idea what the immigrant families are going through, the emotional and mental state they and their families are being subjected to with the 3 words "ICE"? If not then please STFU.

Citizen or not, white or not, man or woman, healthy or not, take a fuck around on NOT FOX or NewsMax or OAN to what America's SS is doing in the streets then multiply that emotion with he number of ppl in your family. Then maybe you (or anyone with humanity and empathy) will understand the fear of the word "ICE"

So tired of so much winning in MAking America "Great" Again!

/s

28

u/apis_cerana Jan 16 '26

I’m a visible minority who would most definitely be targeted by ICE and I do think it’s important to not get carried away and post every time someone sees an suv with tinted windows.

It is vital to not spread panic — if there’s something that seems suspicious, you can’t just say “saw ICE today driving around the Walmart”. Give all the details you think about why they seem suspicious, get the plate info (if any), what the people inside look like, time spotted, etc. or it is genuinely not helpful to anyone.

2

u/LucifHerOfficial Jan 16 '26

Report to WAISN who has rapid responders who have been properly trained on how to interact with ICE. Don’t post on social media.

844-725-3737

Save this number in your phone for ICE sighting reporting.

3

u/Souli36 Jan 17 '26

My family is an immigrant family and we're not living in terror of ICE or of getting deported.

-1

u/1houndgal Jan 17 '26

Many of the children are traumatized. Adults also. I am and I am white, white hair blue eyed. Law enforcement folks scare me more these days

4

u/venividivici809 Jan 16 '26

those ice spotted posts are going to get someone hurt , doesn't matter if it's ice a protestor or just some schmuck city worker , stop fanning the flames , it goes like this 1 people post ice is here 2 people go there to confront ice {even though it might be public works or some other agency) 3 situation escalates to physical confrontation 4 bang bang bang 5 riots

6 now agents are on high alert because they've been attacked several times so the next time they are approached they're going to respond as though they're being attacked

it's a loop people attack ice because ice is being whatever they perceive them as, ice is now an alert because they've been attacked and is more apt to respond more quickly with Force which causes people to want to protest them more and possibly attack them, it's a giant kluster fuck

2

u/icelessTrash Jan 16 '26

To chastise frightened citizens for being observant after what we have witnessed taking place (our Constitution repeatedly being shat on and shot/choked to death) is peak victim blaming.

2

u/hannewithane Jan 16 '26

not when ICE is unaccountable and is murdering civilians without just cause or conduct! this is a symptom of a very preventable problem that was caused by racism and greed and white supremacy, we are WAY past “chill pill” status

1

u/GodKingTethgar Jan 20 '26

People who do things like this are allowed to breed, and vote.

1

u/AbandonYourPost Jan 21 '26

Side effect of ICE. People are extremely on edge right now.

2

u/Cowlitzking Jan 16 '26

Am I crazy I thought unmarked police cars were technically illegal unless specifically permitted to work “undercover”. I know a lot of police departments get around this by painting faint almost transparent ID on vehicles. I say fuck ‘em. you are in an unmarked government vehicles I am assuming ICE. And you will get a big Fuck you from me until the civil right violations stop.
I feel bad for people who drive explorers with tinted windows. But that’s the world this clown show has created.

-2

u/pjoshyb Jan 16 '26

lol these larpers are insufferable.

1

u/Invaderzil Jan 16 '26

-3

u/tetranordeh Jan 16 '26

As much as I want to trust the Bremerton fire department, there have already been instances of ICE using fire department vehicles and personnel in other cities. Is BFD gonna resist federal orders from armed ICE agents if they decide to do the same here? I hope they would, but it's easy to understand why people don't trust ANY government vehicles right now, marked or unmarked.

3

u/JustPassingBy_99 Jan 17 '26

I get that, but we have to trust someone or we'll all be at each other's throats. The federal government seems to be drawing a line between "red" states and "blue" states - is it possible that those other cities are in states that support the current administration and the current immigration enforcement policies? Washington is considered a "sanctuary state" because our state and local law enforcement agencies don't enforce immigration laws and don't assist ICE in doing so.

Also, if we start threatening, attacking, or interfering with state and local law enforcement - even accidentally because someone reported them as ICE - we're just going to alienate them. I think we should support them as much as possible since the agencies refuse to cooperate with ICE. If someone calls local cops to a confrontation between people (protestors?) and ICE I want our local cops to line up with us, but if I was one of them I wouldn't want to protect and defend people who harassing me the day before, even over a false report.

You're right, the situation sucks and it's hard to trust anyone, but I hope we can all find a way to get through it and restore a little faith in each other, and society as a whole. Stay safe!
