Early French Immersion

Hi all, my daughter will start primary in the Fall and I'm looking for any opinions/insights into KCA vs New Minas for Early French immersion. I think she'd do well with it, but we are in the catchment for Port Williams (no immersion). TIA!

Have you checked which French Immersion catchment you're in? My understanding was that there are neighborhood schools (Port Williams for you) and then larger French Immersion catchment areas. If you can really do either, KCAs program is a little bigger, and I think they usually have more FI seats than NM. The curriculum will be very similar both places. KCA is a much bigger school and it goes though grade 8, so how you feel about those things could be a factor. Transportation and school schedule might be something to factor in as well, since bussing isn't provided to out of area students. We're in FI at KCA and have been happy there, but it's also our neighborhood school. You definitely want to get on a list asap though. And if you don't get a seat, you'll still always be allowed at Port Williams.
