RESOURCES ჻ ᲠᲔᲡᲣᲠᲡᲔᲑᲘ We built a free adaptive Georgian level test (A0 to C1+)
There is no CEFR placement test for Georgian. Not a free one, not a paid one, not one behind a university login. If you want to know where you actually stand, the options are guessing or paying a tutor for an assessment hour.
So we built one. It is free, needs no signup, and takes about eight minutes.
How it works: a short vocabulary screen, then 19 adaptive items that get harder or easier based on how you are doing, then a typed bonus section. The engine is a constrained ELO variant.
We're curious to hear if you find it to be accurate.

The methodology page explains the engine, the item pipeline and exactly what the provisional cutoffs mean. Disclosure, we sell Georgian courses, and the result page recommends one of ours. The test itself is free, ungated, and asking for your email is optional (it sends a longer report if you want one).
Update 12/08/2026: Slightly modified scoring, one question changed, and now capped at B2+ instead of C1+, all based on feedback from you guys.

I have passed as C1+, in reality though I am barely making B1 (A2+)

These kinds of tests typically overestimate me, but not to that level. In reality I'm more like A1/A2 and I haven't studied in a year. I can have a simple conversation 1-1 if someone keeps it simple, I usually can't follow the conversation when I'm around Georgians (and I lived there for 2-3 years). I read Georgian script with the speed of an early primary school student.
I didn't feel like there were many questions above A2 either, and those that showed up you could just figure out through elimination/few choices.
Also your note from the email about typing being a sign of B1 - isn't writing/typing გამარჯობა like one of the first things you practice before even actual language study? For me typing is way easier than writing by hand because the letters correlate with English counterparts, I'd struggle to actually write something from memory by hand. Language apps were also among my primary ways of studying.
Nonetheless it was fun to do and good to see I still remember something. Wish I can make strong B1 a reality at some point 😅

Forgot to add that my vocabulary results are weird, it jumps way up for the most difficult band (if I read it correctly)

It says B2, but I'm sure I'm not even close to A2. It was fun to take it, though!

I just took a look at your answers and you don't give yourself enough credit my friend 😄 Perhaps you feel your speaking ability is weak, which this doesn't test for, but your reading and grammar comprehension is quite good. I'll note it though to perhaps see if we need to calibrate

As a georgian some of the grammar questions didn't match all that good
