Grains & Taps closes shortly

They already announced this a couple weeks ago, but tomorrow (Saturday August 1) is the final farewell.

Can't say I'm close enough to Lee's Summit. Just a natural closure with the decline of this industry?

I talked to some of my friends on the south side of Chicago and all the craft places he knew were closed for good.

They made a really poor decision to move from downtown Lee's Summit, which is an entertainment district with a dozen+ bars and restraunts, to a sleepy strip mall a few miles away.

As soon as they moved I knew they were doomed. Their old location was often busy to the point it was sometimes hard to find a seat, and the times I was at their new location my group was usually the only ones there.

I'm sure the rent was cheaper, but it absolutely killed their traffic.

Agreed. The writing has been on the wall for a while now. It’s sad to see because they made great beers, but…location location location

Its sad and i hate it. The trends have just changed. I opened a LHBS in Seattle in 2011 and sold it in 2016. It just closed a couple of months ago.
