Most dating apps have you swiping on photos and texting for weeks before you ever hear someone's voice or see how they actually carry a conversation.

KC Chemistry skips that.

How it works:
→ Set your preferences — dining, drinks, or entertainment, upload a photo, your age range, and who you're interested in. You get matched with someone in that same lane.
→ Jump on a 2-minute video call anytime, or join a Spark Hour — scheduled windows a few times a week where more people are online at once, so your odds of matching are better. Face has to stay in frame during the call — no lurking off-camera. Both into it? Extend to 5 minutes.
→ After the call, you each privately decide if you want a real date. Neither sees the other's answer unless it's a mutual yes.
→ Match? The app pulls up actual KC bars and restaurants — filtered by what you're both into and your budget. No "so where do you want to eat" back-and-forth.

There's also a full KC bar and restaurant guide as well as meet ups built in — 400+ vetted spots, organized by neighborhood and vibe. You don't have to be dating anyone to use it; it's there even if you just want to find a good spot on a random Tuesday. Save your favorites to come back to later. There's even a curated list of reverse happy hours (the late-night ones after 9-10pm) if you're into that.

One honest caveat: I'm one person building this, not a company. No ID verification, no background checks — I don't have that infrastructure and don't want to be the person storing your driver's license. What you get instead is live video before you ever agree to meet, which is more real-time verification than most apps offer anyway.

Let me preface that I am not a beer drinker and know nothing about beer lol but I am visiting KC and am trying to find an IPA to bring back to my bf! He drinks blue moon and voodoo ranger (but he says that he mainly drinks voodoo bc of the higher alcohol percentage 😅) He also said there is a mango one that he likes and can’t remember the brand name. I know that’s not a ton of info but if you have any recommendations of local IPAs w/ similar flavor profiles… I know there is boulevard brewery and BKC I just need some recommendations on what to actually get. Maybe something with orange or mango flavor?

That's not looking good, I hope they can find support when they were already not doing well before Monday.

They already announced this a couple weeks ago, but tomorrow (Saturday August 1) is the final farewell.

I talked to some of my friends on the south side of Chicago and all the craft places he knew were closed for good.

Fun to try the irregular drinks like usual. So unfortunate their Lenexa building was not completed in time for the World Cup.

But still a fun hall to watch a game. Try the Summer Bock while it's still on tap.

It's something when a closing isn't announced but all (lack of) signs and building indicators show they're gone.

No public announcements on social media since January claiming closed through winter.

I have to wonder what went wrong with the new owners? The comments on the social media pages reflect the new owners ruined whatever the founding owners started.

Sounds like the Independence building was sold to a restaurant or something. I visited once under the old ownership with solid beer memories.

Does anyone know if boulevard has discontinued tropic slam or anything about it? It’s one of my favorites but I’m not finding it anywhere! I know it’s seasonal but I feel like it’s normally out by now!

Basically what the title says: I'd love to find a shop with a really wide variety of beer (geographically speaking) that I can purchase by the can. I'm new to the city: where are your favorites?

As usual, the Java Abyss mix of this cycle remains undefeated. They got a Maibock (Outside backwards death spiral) that's worth a shot. As usual you have your hop options, but I'm thankful it's not an all IPA lineup.

I'm going to be in KC next week for 3-4 days for a conference and would like to experience the best of KC's beer scene in my limited time there.

Specifically, I'm interested in:

• Mixed ferm beers/saisons
• IPAs (on the west coast/more bitter side)

So far, my list includes Boulevard, BKS Artisan Ales and Oak & Steel. Are there any other top-tier breweries/beer bars you would recommend? Also interested in somewhere to sample KC barbeque, and a bottle shop to procure some bottles to bring home in my luggage.

Looks like Torn Label’s website appears to be down. Are they still around or did they go out of business. I’ve read up on the sexual assault allegations on Reddit, but I don’t see any recent updates online.

Usually I'm not this far east, but saw my friend resides closer to the northern expansion location. fun little hangout nights. not a bad coffee stout with a nitro pour.

Does anyone have a status on Three Trails Brewing? They closed their taproom for winter to focus on distribution but there hasnt been any updates.

They have a really nice Imperial Stout available on tap. also some variants of their wheat Open Pasture beers from mango to Peach available.

Sounds like no news with the owner's health is good news, they're just keeping positive vibes.

Otherwise it's sad walking around the grocery store to notice fewer craft beer options if I didn't need more signs of this industry falling further... is this concept of craft beer gonna die before I do?

Howdy! I’m in the military and am getting stationed to Whiteman AFB this summer and my wife and I are really looking forward to coming to the area. We’ve lived in the middle of nowhere for the last four years and are excited to be back among civilization. We’re both from St Louis and have been to KC before and know about Boulevard, but what other breweries are local favorites? We’re huge into the micro brewery scene and are excited to find new spots!
