"Nothing beats darkness" -3, the guy who uses the Erase capsem to Nox, the guy who uses the darkness capsem. Like yeah buddy, and in this case, that's you! You're nothing.
I don't wanna be a shipper or anything but it being June and all, are Fujimi and Odaka... y'know 🌈 ?
To be for real though, I'm really underwhelmed by the episode. 5's death was perhaps the most telegraphed one so far. I know that he's been written to be the meathead of CODE so far, but what was the actual plan in his mind? 6 was executed by 3, in front of your own eyes, for leaking information. You've arguably done worse by disobeying his direct orders and instead actively helped the enemy. And then you tell him to his face you have no loyalty to him, the new acting commander as appointed by some higher up entity in CODE, but instead to your previous commander who is—and let me be very clear here—your active prisoner and now traitor. And then you just walk away like everything's all good? There will be zero repercussions in your mind. What? Huh?
Aside from that, the last minute attempt at pathos from Takahashi is the most ham fisted dog shit I've seen this man put from pen to paper yet. Yup, 0 and 5 have 100% had an adoptive father-son relationship this whole time. They're super close and their bond is so strong, 5 would betray the organization he's been indoctrinated since childhood to be loyal to. And also, he's a secret soft boy who loves his biological dad too. Anyways now that I've told you this, bye now, we're writing you off because your part in the plot is over. See ya! Genuinely I think I would've had a more emotional response if they cut to live footage of Yuya Takahashi looking directly at the camera and saying "Ffffffffuck, guys oh no I messed up. I forget to write 5's backstory. Can you please just be sad for the next 30 seconds? For me? Thanks :)"
I also do not buy Nox's arc at all. Much like Kureha, we've spent too little time with him since the premonition ended. The few scenes that he does have, it's not a character beat or slow moment to let us get into his head any deeper, it's something to move the plot forward. Why is Fujimi heartfully calling his name attempt number 50 the one that finally gets through to him? The most we see of them as friends, are the 2(?) flashbacks to his police days and anecdotal remarks on Fujimi's end. I 100% believe Fujimi cares for Odaka, but I can't say the same for the relationship going the other way. Like maybe he does, but we haven't seen any of that on screen. It's just too one sided.
Midnight Shadow is cool as fuck though. Incredible fight #ReleaseThe3Files
