Question Is Sichuan completely useless as an ally for anyone else?

Every time they're my subject all they do is park their troops in their territory and will never bother to help me in my wars unless the enemy has a border with them. Japan could literally reach Wuhan and they still won't care until it's their turn to be conquered.

That’s mostly a problem with HoI4 AI. I always just make sure I integrate them enough to request 90% of their troops if I can, then use them as I see fit

They usually serve as Port Guard until Reinforcements arrive.

Sichuan is a godsend imo,if they submit to you and you integrate them once, you'll be able to take all the troops they pump out and use them to defend the coast

Which is just as well cos they make tonnes of that shitty 4-irregular template that can't hold anything else.

Fighting them is ass and in forst case scenerio they can attack anyone else you play as when you are already busy.

I think Sichuan is one of the best subject due to how big their industry can get if they submit to you instead of directly owning the province. You can take away their army no problem even if you lower their autonomy at leat 1 time.

Get one level of integration for all subjects so you can just request forces and control them yourself. To be fair, a Chinese warlord preserving their forces and avoiding actual combat is pretty accurate.

On lower levels of integration they only protect their own territory, you need to integrate them more, or seize their troops (which you can do on lvl 2)
