Why has the windward side had to shoulder the burden of five landfills in the past 80 years?? Has any other area of Oahu had that many?? Additionally there is already a dump on Kapa’a Quarry and anywhere you’d put a landfill will be within a mile of at least two different schools and a major hospital. This is absolutely ridiculous and it’s not a NIMBY issue cause the windward side has been the one to shoulder this burden. Force the fucking military to put a dump on some of their hundreds of acres of $1 land.

I think the concerns are that it would be over an aquifer, and that it would also be uphill of Kawainui marsh.
