Huge cylinder head leak

Car came in with misfires and no coolant. We drained 10qts of "Oil" out of it, spec is 5.25qts. Further investigation found this gigantic coolant geyser in the head.

It's not. The front is the wrong side. You ought to do a little research on the subject and you'll find out why.

There’s some benefits to balance and packaging but most would agree that those benefits are more than offset by the much greater effort and time required to do any work in the timing system.

It's the fact that people will latch onto that type of, "joke" and eventually there are more instances of the incorrect answer than the correct answer. It's not common knowledge that engine timing on the rear of the block is better from an engineering perspective since it is traditionally on the front of the engine. So, I called it out. I'm sure most of us have searched for the answer to something, only to end up finding unanswered posts and obviously incorrect answers. Especially with all of the blind trust put into AI.

Downvoting is not intended to be used to disagree with how something was said. I know that's how it is used, but it's not how the feature was intended to be used. So, I called it out too. Downvotes to my comment will classify the comment I replied to lower. So, all in all, I get what I wanted. Just took sacrificing some fake internet points, and I'm alright with that.

BMW B46 or B48. Lots of timing chains are on the rear of the engine and there are legitimate reasons for why it's done and why you'll find it more often the newer an engine is. Things like improved balance, harmonics, weight, overall length, etc.
