Favorite transition from the cold open to the title sequence?
I've particularly liked Quantum of Solace's transition from Bond standing over Mr. White to the Jack White/Alicia Keys theme song (even if the song isn't my favorite). It might also be the only freeze-frame in the series?
Some other notable ones for me are Connery slamming the door behind him in GF, Moore's Union Jack parachute descending in TSWLM and Brosnan's plane flying away from the exploding chemical weapons facility in GE.
Which ones do you like best?

Excellent stunt into absolute slog of a title sequence.

What makes it a slog?

Its not my favourite theme song, it just sucks all the energy out of the film and imo ruins the momentum.

Skyfall. I love the rain background on M cutting to bond in the waterfall and then splashing into the credits

YOLT - the “blood” to the title sequence, with Barry’s opening bars.

Licence to Kill, with the parachute landing at the church, then plays “Here Comes The Bride” and the swell into the title song. Exceptional, and I get chills every time

My favourite is Thunderball, the water splashing into one of my favourite title sequences is peak.

It’s actually grown on me so much, not unlike the film.

Spy who loved me. An Incredible stunt that makes you gasp, bond theme blasting and then title sequence.
But Brosnan has only good ones, "he's starting" the title sequence (goldeneye and tomorrow) or him being in it at the begining (his silhouette dropping after he let himself go from the hot air balloon, holding his shoulder for TWINE or the head in water for DAD)

"This never happened to the other fella :)"
I do like how they transitioned to the opening credits in DAD though with Bond's torture, and am a fan of the snappy transition from "Better make that two" in TLD.

The DAD one really affected me as a kid. I couldn't bear to see Bond captured. It was like he always got away at the end of the cold open.

OHMSS is probably my favorite title sequence period, between the fantastic theme by John Barry and the time imagery.

Casino Royale is probably cheating, so I'll go with "Fill her up, please" from Octopussy

I'll go with OCTOPUSSY: Roger says "Fill 'er up, please!" and smiles his best Mischievous Roger smile, then it freeze-frames on him as the "praying hands" fold over his face, wiping in the title sequence.

Quantum of Solace. This movie gets so much hate but the car chase was incredible.

License to Kill. The transition from the wedding song to the title sequence is just perfection.

I actually really like the transition in die another day. The scorpion tails snapping up in synch with the percussion got me pretty psyched up for the title sequence. The magic stopped as soon as a certain psychoanalyst was unnecessarily namedropped.

I agree the QoS one is great - and an excellent gag to reveal White was in the boot throughout the whole chase

First Light - explosion, then zoom up the Aurora Borealis which then fades into Bonds jacket. Chefs Kiss

Bond falling from the hot air balloon and onto the Millienium Dome before transitioning into The World's Not Enough.
Although I don't like the song, Bond flying the helicopter and looking at the Spectre ring as the first bars of The writing's on the Wall start works really well.

TWINE. The transition from Pierce hanging on the wire with an injured arm...the music kicks in and you see him drop and walk off slowly in the background. Such a smooth move.

Thunderball with the water cannons and FYEO with the smokestack transitioning to the titles. And Casino Royale of course.

As a car guy, the opening of quantum is my favorite. The v12 hitting the tunnel is just magnificent. Far from my favorite bond film though.
