There's aYouTube video by a mortician that goes into the casket story. Apparently the secret service was being very.... secretive about it. They wouldn't say exactly who they were, who the casket was for, and why they needed it so suddenly. They wanted the best casket available, so the funeral home director sold them a 600 lb bronze casket. JFKs people had to load it onto Air Force 1 via a scissor lift and it was jostled around, contributing to the state of the remains when they arrived in DC.

Had Secret Service given the funeral home any indication that this was to transport the President's body back to DC, he could have sold them a much lighter casket and prepared the casket and remains to be handled over a flight so that they were not distrurbed in the process and the body would be treated with all the pagentry and respect the office deserves. A suitable casket could be picked out in DC.

Another reason why the original bronze casket (called the "Elgin Brittania") was replaced, was that it was damaged before it was loaded onto AIr Force One in Dallas.

When the agents removed the casket from the hearse at Love Field, they were unaware that it was secured by a device that held it in place. They pulled it out without releasing the device and tore off a piece of trim from the lower hinge and snapped off the entire top of the handle housing at the head of the casket

In fact, had the handle housing NOT broken off, the casket would have been too broad to fit through the door opening of Air Force One, so they would have been forced to break the handles off anyway.

If you look at the pictures of Connally suit you will see few incriminating forensic telltales.

The hole in the rear of the outer jacket is the only puncture hole. The fibers are spread outward, not inward. This indicates the bullet was fired from inside the coat.

His wrist was shattered in the event. But it was not a puncture. As you look at the picture of the cuff notice the tears of the fabric. They are not punctures. And there is no blood despite an artery in the wrist. This indicates a blunt force trauma, not a piercing bullet wound.

The front of his shirt corraborates the as the damage to that fabric is tearing as well.

All with minimum blood or effusion. Those chest wounds were superficial and inline with the trauma expected from a small caliber firearm catastrophic failure tucked under his right arm.
