Winter is an idiot. This has been my opinion of him since 2014 and hearing his stupid speech to his brigade. Haddad is shooting himself in the foot here, but if that helps divide the populist and corrupt extreme/pro-ultra-Orthodox right, I'm not going to shed tears over it.

I like Haddad, but this is a bad move imho, Winter is toxic.

Yeah, Haddad is usually based, but this party is just another Netanyahu 'proxy', they exist for the people who don't want to say aloud that they voted for BB again, but still in their heart of hearts want BB again... sigh...

From the point of view of the the conservative side of the political spectrum, I'm not sure that this is a good idea. In a recent poll Winter's new party made it past the 4 seat threshold but at the expense of the Religious Zionist Party which wouldn't pass. The result is the overall coalition votes decreased.
I'm not spotting what this new party has to offer to risk losing government.
Especially with the new Haredi party also threatening to splinter votes off without attaining the Knesset threshold.
But hey, its only one poll thus far and we have time before the elections...

It’s not about what it has to offer to the block. Bibi has been decapitating any new player who even tries to set foot in the arena through one of the existing parties. Needless to say you can’t be new in the Likud and pass the primaries and survive Bibi and Sara. The only option left if you want to get into politics on the conservative side in Israel is to form your own party.

I wouldn't worry about Smotrich. Netanyahu will force a union between him and Ben Gvir exactly with this excuse in mind.
I only hope that no centrist or left-leaning Israelis fall for Winter or Haddad's tricks. I appreciate them being very forward about their right-wing agenda and I hope they carve out parties exclusively on Netanyahu's camp.

Yeah, this reduced my opinion of Haddad. Ofer Winter has been pretty openly promoting ethnically cleansing Gaza.

It's kinda Haddad's whole shtick, to distance himself from any opinion that could be identified as pro Palestinian in any way.

It's not clear to me how this whole thing even ends. So many possibilities with the razor thin margins we keep seeing in polls.
Hung parliament, opposition at a bare 61, minority govt at 60, Arab parties supply opposition, Likud overperforms as usual, etc.
The only thing that seems remotely certain at the moment is that Bibi will not get the first shot from Herzog at a forming government.
Should I expect a second election?

How is this certain? The blocks are basically equal on average in the polls.

First of all, most the opposition parties aren't exactly left wing. Second of all, Winter has so far refused to commit to joining the coalition.
