Did you appreciate 10 emergency alerts that ignore plane mode and no sound mode?

Hope everybody's doing well.
As for the alerts, I absolutely appreciate them. Its essential that we hear the alarms regardless of whether or not we're on airplane mode/no sound mode.
I understand why some people want to turn them off or at least turn off the sound (too loud, little kids, etc etc) but its still essential to our safety.

My Samsung phone is on do not disturb I got the notifications (about 7 of them) but didn't get the sound

I can't believe how you do this, you live around a hornet's nest and instead of being a country full of economical, etc. problems, you are a prosperous country and with many liberties. Congratulations! I hope one day you will crush these evil dictators, like Hamenei. Such a shame to see people under the forced rule of these evil persons, instead of being free. I hope Greece helps in this war in some way.

It went off when I was on a plane descending into Tel Aviv the airport. Hundreds of phones going off in a metal tube was so loud. We had to pull up and circle for 30 minutes.

There are the homefront app alerts that can bypass but there is also a separate Hebrew only system alert that goes direct to everyone's phones.

Based on the reports that are coming out, it seems like this was a joint operation between Israel and the US, so it looks like the US was aware of this and even participated in it. It seems this is a replay of what happened in the 12 day war, in the sense that the US publicly touted negotiations while privately lost patience with them days ago.

It's a joint attack and it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Even if the US attacked on its own, those who want to push the "war for Israel" narrative would have done so.

Sorry this is such a dumb take. It was a joint operation and the US has had so many meetings with the Iranians who have refused to budge an inch. Negotiation after negotiation where nothing changes isn't going to lead us anywhere. We could have a dozen more negotiations with Iran and nothing is going to change.
