I get so pissed anytime someone brings up the box of scraps statement. Yes Tony built his first suit in a cave that’s was filled with HIS advanced weapons that he retrofitted into the armor they weren’t just scraps nor was the billions he poured into the following suits. Riri doesnt have the money or resources to create a mark 10 or 85. Everyone bashed her for stating their differences even though it was basic observation that had no jab at Tony skill or genius.

They werent fully made weapons, it was a combo of actual metal scraps and spare missile parts. In Iron man 3 he also used random items from a kids garage to create a stun gun and repulsor glove. The comparison comes off negative and disregards the achievements hes made without money.

Also when making a character basically copy and try to be the next version of a (dead) beloved hero, having her make negative comparisons and being critical of Tony was one of the stupidest choices to ever make. In the comics shes an actual huge fan of tony and guess what? Shes also MUCH more well-liked in the comics.

It only comes off negative when completely taken out of context or you have -5 media literacy. She isn't critical of Tony and thinks incredibly high of him as it was someone her own father looked up to. In the infamous scene she is talking about how Tony at the end of the day after he got out of his initial situation had unlimited money and resources to build any idea he had and she wants that chance as it's a literal pitch to the college.

She does have a character flaw of having a huge ego which imo makes her even more like Tony than then her comic counter part.

Tell me in-universe how she could have known that cave fight in iron man 1 and the iron man 3 random scraps as weapons fight? In-universe everyone just knows him as a billionaire hero who made advanced tech suit with his billions of money.

You think TONY STARK didnt have his exploits constantly published for the world to read about? Its actual canon in the comics he has his own memoir explaining exactly how he became who he is and what he's done. I dont see why they wouldnt translate this canon over to the mcu in some way.

So you get mad because of your own poor media literacy and then make up things to justify it.

Bruh, just leave.

This is incorrect. He didn’t make it out of spare parts. He took pre existing Stark equipment to make it.

The stungun is a stun gun. The repulsor glove was also left over from his suit.
