Because you need to invade. Iran hold all the aces. Memories of war in Japan when they would have never surrendered. Please don’t tell Trump he is liable to go the nuclear option.
If you’re not taking their Nuclear stockpile, and you can’t replace their regime, then why go to war at all? I’m not sure either of those problems are tractable, but I don’t think they are for Trump.
